I think for PvE you should stay with rabid for the Crit proc bleeds you can get since most critters in pve dont carry any condi cleanse.

Rabid is still my standard conditionmancer setup. You could mix with Carrion but toughness does more for Necromancer than vitality and it synergizes with Rune of the Undead.

Hybrid has better dps BUT I don’t think it’s ever intended by Anet and who knows whether they will take that into consideration when they balance things.

Out of all the pure condition gear, I think rabid is still the current best.

Well, I just swapped my armor to Dire with Scavenger runes, keeping my weapons as Rabid as well as rings, amulet, and backpiece (accessories are ascended dire/rabid). I have to say, I’m rather pleased with the results. I have more condition damage, more durability, and I still have a respectable 37% crit chance pre-Fury. I’m pretty satisfied with how it works right now.

Yes I have come to a similar conclusion. I am not quite sure what combination of Dire/Rabid I will end up with, but I am exchaning full dire up to some combination that gives me more crit. over 50% crit in full rabid was always too much, so this works out well for me.

Scavenging though I feel trapped into. The condition damage boost is very high, so high in fact I feel like I can’t justify perplexity anymore, unless they fix fear causing interruption. The life steal proc basically gives out a flat 1k damage, and 1k heal everytime I heal.

The extra vitality does make some interesting things happen. Fights where I would previously die, I find myself easily living through now. The damage loss from the crit is noticeable, but not massively so.

I’m wondering what is a working xx% crit chance in a dire/rabid mix.

I had full rabid armor/weapons/trinkets, got a dire/scavenging armor set, will slowly work on replacing rabid trinket/back stuff with dire.

If I go full dire I will switch out Sigil of Earth with Geomancy and maybe take Dhumfire out because I doubt I can efficiently proc them.

full dire with something like x/30/x/15 (with trait ll) /x and runes of the scavenger would be a vampiric condition tank, in theory it sounds good for wvw but it depends on the number of ele’s and shout guards on the enemy team
