I need help defeating this boss as a necro if anyone can suggest a build that works to beat theses guys let me know I have made it through all but the last 2 of the gauntlet as a MM but i can’t seem to do enough damage to get both killed in the time limit.

I’d say a condition build… But for the fight in general – It became a lot easier for me, when I made sure to pick up the meat before the dog, while killing the dog before the guy… The dog gets a really powerful jump/charge attack (after the dude is dead) which is really annoying to deal with.

Yep pick that meat and kill dog first. Aside from that MM and body blocks works wonders there.

I used beserker with no problems. Got the achieve with not too much effort aswell. The fears, daze and chill necro has with DS, warhorn and focus make it pretty easy to prevent chomper from eating. And dagger kills them so fast when you’ve eaten a few meat sticks.

Power build, killed him easily. Even the meat achievement was easy. I basically focused on the pet and took all the meat before it reached them. After a while you will do amazing damage. Axe/Focus (30/10/0/0/30)

Just condition everything. I got achievement first try. They both are melee and scepter/staff gives you enough cc so that they can’t touch you or get the meat before you. And you should have enough damage to finish around 3 meats time.

i was trying at the begining to kill chomper 1st like every1 else , but i continued to fail over and over again ( 10-15times) ,and than i tried oposite way to kill struger 1st and succed in 3rd try ( full cond dmg )

so try with struger 1st ,maybe it will be much easier for u at that way ,like it was for me

I did this as a sylvari necro, so I used the sylvari elite to spawn turrets at the very start. This distracted them for a bit, I used axe/warhorn and a berserker gear setup. For utility I used spectral armor, plague signet and signet of the locust. I used this to get the achievement as well.

Pop the elite and then pop locust swarm and stand next to them to make sure chomper is crippled. Just auto attack chomper and use axe 2 when it’s available. Focus solely on getting to the meat before chomper. Each stack of the meat buff gives you a ton of power. The first three meats are safe to eat, after that each additional meat will stun you. That’s what I used the plague signet and spectral armor for, to break those. By the fourth meat, axe 2 should just obliterate Chomper and then Struger in short order. Axe 3 and warhorn 4 also work well to keep chomper locked down and away from meat. You can also pop in to death shroud and fear him if necessary.

A few tips. When Struger throws the meat all the way across the room, don’t run straight to it and eat it. Try to stay near Chomper and keep an eye on him so that if Struger throws a second slab of meat, Chomper can’t beat you to that one while you’re eating the first one.

If you aren’t sylvari, you could probably go plague form and spam 2 at the start to keep them from doing too much damage.

Something I found usefully when killing them, was fear works. So staff #5 and DS #3 work wonders if Chomper is closer then you to the meat.

I also found it easier to track the meat when it was thrown, then to see it on the ground.

Once I got the hang of it, this was the build that I used as well with dagger/warhorn. I managed to keep a very consistent cripple/chill on the dog with Signet of Locust and caught the meat first each time. Focus on the dog, but watch the Norn carefully for when he throws meat!

You’re supposed to pick up the meat? I didn’t bother. I merely condi-DPSed the guy down too quickly for the dog to get many stacks, then brought down the dog; as the dog’s attacks have huge telegraphs.

The meat increases your damage significantly. Also, denying the dog meat gets you the achievement. I did it with my Condi gear/build with 30/30/10. In fact I did the whole gauntlet with this build.

Grab the meat and kill the dog first is the best way to go IMO.
