I am pretty sure many of you may not give a kitten of this skill but I seem to like the idea behind this skill. This skill is like the “Oh kitten my Healing Skill 1.1/4sec caste time won’t make it button” but not the “get out of jail button”

So I have a suggestion to improve this skill a bit.
As of now this skill is a little bit underwhelming to use its activate skill.
-3/4sec activate time.
-Healing: 970 (0.5)
-Up to 5 targets

My suggestion:
-1/2sec activate time.
-Healing: 1800 (1)
-Up to 3 targets

My version of this skill will undoubtedly buff the skill but not enough to make it scream OP because the Max healing you gain still comparable to the current one but now you can activate it a little faster, just a little bit more healing at max and require less target to be effective. What do you think?

As far as changes go, it’s not bad. I don’t really find it necessary, though. Signet of the Locust seems fine as-is, but Necros, more than any profession but Mesmer, it seems, have a 3-slot syndrome that prevents it from being taken…ever. This suggestion wouldn’t change that.

It really needs a stunbreak on it. I would love the stunbreak in addition to your suggestion though. I don’t think it would be too overpowered either, because SoL’s active is so counterable.

- If you’re blinded, the healing/damage fails completely.
- If someone is blocking, evading etc. it seriously impacts the health gained or it fails completely.
- If you have poison on you it seriously impacts the health gained or it fails completely.
- If you’re fighting only one enemy it’s not even worth using the active.

The above are so common that maybe 1/5 tries are successful in any meaningful way (better than almost never pre-buff). The only time I can get it to work reliably is when use condi clear, area fear or golem charge in unison and then cast it.

I think a stunbreak would be fair, and would make it actually worth running in many builds. It would fix a lot of the 3 utility syndrome it has, because we really can’t afford not to take enough stun breaks in most of our builds and this would fit a nice spot (stunbreak + speed + heal).

Its sole use is for the speed boost. If a necro doesn’t swap this out before fighting, they’ve wasted a slot.

Given it’s called “Locust” a stun break and teleport is my thinking, but hey whoever said anything that the skill effects had to be sensible with relation to their name.

Necro already lacks stability so why not make it an instant cast stunbreak on a 35 second base CD.

I did think about the Stunbreak but I felt like it could be a little much for a buff to a skill. Not that I don’t think it shouldn’t but sometime a smaller step is the best way to do thing.

it would be sweet if it was a stunbreak and refilled endurance. would rather have 2 extra dodges then a health boost.

The health isn’t small, and it is a really nice way to actually scale our sustain into an AoE situation, which is something we both need and constantly ask for. I just feel making it a stun break/instant cast (maybe) would allow it more freedom on what builds it could be taken in.

This thing is really powerful when used at max strength, its a good thing it can be countered easily. I remember times when iv gotten almost full heals from this alone.

If the “conditional” stuff breaks the power budget, get rid of the conditional stuff.

Add a stun break.

They wouldn’t even need to boost the damage portion or range of the skill from where it is now. Just adding a stunbreak would let it see much more use.

I didn’t even realize the range wasn’t already 900 nor the damage not the same as the healing when I made that post. Shows how often I currently use the active.

The range is a fairly large PBAoE around yourself, 900 would be a bit insane range wise, making a circle that is 1800 units from edge to edge.
