Most other classes have a bunch of invincibility skills they can sit in to heal. And with so many skills and talents to do with healing, it’s ridiculous that our core class mechanic locks us out of them.
DS is NOT like other transforms. It’s our class mechanic and there’s an entire tree, not to mention other talents in other trees to do with enhancing DS and the ability to stay in DS.
It’s crazy that we can’t siphon, receive group heals or benefit from regen boons.
I wouldn’t worry about group healing at all. No other classes are balanced around the ability of other classes to heal them.

But to add to the main argument; it’s the mechanic which is impacted by vitality, the attribute modified by our blood magic trait line which has the majority of siphon traits. Seems like logic would dictate that the two would go hand in hand.
What I don’t like about DS is looking at the empty heal, utility and elite skill slots.
We should also have two sets of weapon skill bars to swap between, maybe a power set and a condition set? The skills we have now are no where near good enough considering it’s our class mechanic.

If we could heal through death shroud and use our utilities and elite, death shroud could be a lot better. But the theoritical synergy of healing through death shroud makes me wonder if the problem doesn’t lie in the balance aspect but instead in the technical aspect. I mean could it be that the programmers actually can’t make us heal through death shroud and use our utility skills? If that were the case then we will never see these changes comming.
If that was the case then they could at least communicate that with us.
Then we could turn out attention to alternatives, like a talent that heals us to full on exiting DS if our health isn’t at 100%, but has a really long cooldown (just a random example from the top of my head).
Allowing healing in DS would be a fix for both Necro attrition AND the fact that the blood tree is completely useless/pointless unless you’re a minonmancer (and it’s not even a minion tree – minonmancers actually skip minion talents just to get Vampiric Master).
Siphon healing in DS wouldn’t even siphon that much! LB is an extremely slow attack, and DS #4 is on a long cooldown.
I mentioned the no healing as a bug in the bug forum.
It’s incredibly buggy that heals don’t work from siphons, boons, allies etc and there’s no tooltip anywhere to say that this is the correct behavior.
e.g. healing skills just say “heals allies for x amount” .. do we stop being an ally when in DS?

There are many things that wouldnt work in ds. The most important are healing, rezzing and stomping. I think in the past the said that giving necros healing in ds would be overpowered. I however believe all those limitations in ds come from it being our old down state and they never changed it. Maybe its too much work changing it or more likely they dont care about it, as in their eyes necros are more or less fine. Hence only the little tweaks every patch.

Umm, no they don’t. To get Vampiric Master, you literally skip nothing relating to minions. The only choice is which two of the following you want: Death Nova/Necromantic Corruption (mutually exclusive, so I grouped them together), Training of the Master, and Fetid Consumption. Regardless, you don’t skip Vampiric Master because it is either A. on the way for Fetid Consumption or B. does not rule out the possibility of getting all of the other traits you want.
Vampiric Master has not been skipped in any MM build I’ve ever seen. They either don’t go 20 into BM and can’t get it, or have 20+ in BM and have it.

Stomping does work in DS for watchwork enemies.
