The #6 bonus grants access to Aegis upon using a signet.

The other stats are toughness and minus condition duration. Both decent!

Most Necromancer’s already have signet of the locust glued to their skill bars because of poor class mobility. The other two signets are not useless.

This is the first true active non stat based defense the Necromancer has ever gotten. Plague Signet even has zero cast time. Perhaps it is one thing that could stop those attacks which one shot you through death shroud. Aegis is really good. Remember how much easier it was to do Liadri on a scepter guardian than on a necromancer?

Previously acess to aegis was only possible by converting burning in a well of power, and by Rune of the Monk, which doesn’t count because 1. All elite necromancer skills have long cooldowns, and 2. The other 5 stats from the rune are garbage.

So are these runes worth using?

First of all, prease stahp using Signet of Locust at all times. Its one thing to use it to get across a map or whatever, but 25% move speed is not worth taking up a utility slot. If you really want 25% get travelers. Also if you get 1 shotted through a full DS, not even full, you are doing something wrong. I am basically a pure glass cannon necro and I almost never get downed in big scale wvw, small scale, and I hold my own against all classes while roaming (save a few cause of reasons, like suck-a-tude :P). The toughness and -condi duration makes sense and all but there are better options (like using bowl of poultry and lemongrass soup and some other runes) and aegis is just not worth taking up those spaces which could be taken by something better. You could definitely get this to work and all but there are just a lot better options available.

Our signet cooldowns are just too long. It’s not worth it. Melandru runes do much more of what matters on those runes.

Thief and Ranger are the only professions that I know of that would use these runes… Thief signets all have short cooldowns and good actives. Ranger signets arent used as often, but I know several of their builds run 3 signets so these runes would make sense to me.
