Hi everyone, first post here but I promise I tried searching for this issue.

I play a necromancer, and so far every skill I have that says it affects a “Targeted Area” gives me a red circle to place on the ground where I want this area to be.

I just hit level 20 and picked up “Well of Suffering” for my 3rd slot. However I was disappointed to find it places the target right at my feet everytime – without giving me the red placement circle.

Why is this different?

When not-traited, wells are placed directly where you are standing. However, if you go 20 points into the Curses trait-line, you will see a trait called Focused Rituals which makes wells ground-targetable, just like your staff marks.

Wells, sadly, must be traited in order to be ground-targeted (Curses trait line: 9 – Focused Rituals). All well skills will drop at your feet unless you have this trait.

Ah, thanks I will trait for that! I noticed the healing well doesn’t say target area in the tooltip. I do think some consistency would make this clearer to new players.
