The CD Nerf reminds me of Dhuumfire Patch
Just a reminder about the Dhuumfire patch.
Dhuumfire turned the necromancer into a strong condition buster, but the other problems remained (no mobility, can’t survive focus fire, no team support). Pvp teams only took one necromancer to their tournament teams.
Weren’t there 2 elementalists and a Mesmer in every tournament team in the recent tournament?
Somebody else’s turn to be getting Dhuumfired very soon.
Bitter Chill isn’t even that fantastic. It’s 3 vuln on a chill. It was good when they originally showed it with 5 vuln, but it wasn’t good enough to justify a nerf.

Chilling Darkness got nerfed not Bitter chill but the chill stack limit will restrict future uses.
The Dhuumfire thread
The difference is, Dhuumfire was a terrible idea, nobody from the community at that time asked for the necro getting burning, plus it was totaly over the top. This trait came from the “balancing” team or Jon “Master of the Deathshroud” Peters himself. It is a good example how clueless Arenanet is in regards to the Necro.
Chilling Darkness was never considered OP or a problem or anything else. It got used mostly in large scale wellomancer speccs. The only similarity is the cluelessness of Anet what to do with the Necromance but thats nothing new.

No it won’t. Each application of Chill, even if it exceeds the stack cap, will still apply the vuln.
Drarnor is right. Same way as Chilling darkness still applies chill to dredge despite them being immune to blind.
The nerf only really affects WoD and Plague to any great degree. With blinds on both skills predominantly used in Wvw zerginng, I can see the change being directed at GWEN.

Your defintion of being over the top is being in the best comps? Whats so wrong with being viable. In that case all other classes have been over the top for ages now. Necro has always been bad so anytime it is strong it is obvious. Strong classes meanwhile silently just stay op forever
Necromancer/Casual Warrior
[Team] Best WvW guild of all time. EASILY.

You mean trying to make Necro bad in the only game mode they are actually part of the meta? Yeah I can see Anet doing that.
