Hello,

Let me first say that if you have any suggestions or changes for this build, please post them.

Here is the build, it is primary a tank/heavy support. You are able to withstand a lot of hits while being able to apply a large amount of AoE healing.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAndWjMad7Zbib07JAJFXb9kiu3m6R5wjOA-ToAgzCmI6S1lrLTXyusdNCY9B

Pros:

1. Increased protection. With spectral skills, you have access to a lot of protection skills. When using wall you can run through it twice before it ends, gaining a total of 14 seconds of protection. If you also use spectral armor AFTER running through the wall 15 seconds (its probably better to do that after the wall ends). The usage of the wall also allows you to gain great zerg support

2. More mobility than most. With the vigor on swap, and then the spectral walking/teleport, you have some pretty good mobility which is vital in WvW situations.

3. Heals, heals, and more heal. If you have a mere 4 conditions on you, you can heal for around 9,200. That is half your hp being able to be healed on a 25 second cooldown. On top of that heal, you’ll also heal those around you for 1,500 hp. With that heal, every 5 seconds you can switch in and our of death shroud healing your self and everyone around you for around 650 hp. So you can not only heal your self but also others around you for 650hp every 5 seconds! Along with those your life transfer also heals allies, that is about 2-3k hp by the time it ends.

4. Amazing bunkering with the amount of life force you can gain and personal healing.

5. Moderate condi removal. With your feast and then the runes, you have better than usual condition removal.

Cons:

1. Lack of damage
2. Somewhat lack of mobility
3. Fears are your only CC
4. Low condition damage, though the ability to chain a weapon swap and death shroud for bleeding does add some condi pressure

Notes: I’ve thought about switching spectral mastery with vital presence, however I am thinking about making a DPS/PvE version of this build and it seems vital presence would be better suited for that.

Suggestions? Tips? Please post them below!

So I thought I’d post a few tactics that I use with this.

One way this can work in WvW is with terrific, low risk, zerg support. As any necro knows, running in the middle of a large zerg battle can prove to be catastrohpic for your player and may result in death. What I do is I will activate my spectral walk, run into the middle of the zerg where allies are, then start applying my AoE heals and spectral wall for protection support. I can get off a full life transfer, feast on conditions, and the AoE heal when you leave deathshroud. Depending on if I’m getting focused I can do 2 things . I can try to see if I can get one more into death shroud of out deathshroud heal off, maybe a few aoe skills, then I will use the teleport and get back to safety or I can get out of there immediately.

I’d not put any point into Curses, mainly because the Condition Damage get wasted (200 is really low) and Precision does not increase your damage output that much.
I’d rather spend those 20 leftover trait points on Death Magic or Spite.
Greater Marks is a must have in every PvE/WvW Necro imho.

You had an amazing point. I think i was thinking too much into spectrals and didn’t realize i was giving up all that condi. I reformed the build for death magic and I combined it with the condi removal (remove condition every 5 seconds) and the 20% decrease in staff skills. I also exchanged the offhand dagger for a focus and changed the sigils. Figured freezing was a better condi to go for bunkering.

Thanks!
