Well this has nothing to do with pve but if i remember correctly sustain is something necros have been asking for in pvp. So that is probably the reason for the new spite and deathmagic gm traits.

And if i remember correctly for pve necros have been asking for more team utility. Which would fit the new bloodmagic and soul reaping gm traits (though i dont know if they will be useful).

Wether the new traits are good or bad, i am not sure, but arent the ideas behind those traits what we have been asking for?

Sorry to burst your bubble,but even in PvE, necro sustain is horrid. The difference is that PvE is so easy(or one-shots) that sustain doesn’t matter, so any sustain at all (guaranteed in your 6 slot) is plenty.

That said, we know Path of Corruption will be useless in PvE. Enemies that use boons use short duration-high frequency boons, so stripping them is currently pointless (unless it’s via spinal shivers for the extra damage)

Renewing Blast is a case where the necro isn’t the frontline. Simply by standing behind the melee allies, you can pump out ~700 healing per second to all of them (adjusted for rate of fire, but not the unknown healing power ratio). You don’t even have to stand far away, so you will still be getting big damage in from life blasts for close range.

have we? I have absolutely no trouble sustaining myself in any aspect of the game. if that’s what majority of players have been asking for then I guess they did a great job. I did not know sustain was an issue at all, very interesting. The support I do agree with.

You won’t have a huge issue sustaining yourself if your enemy stays and dukes it out with you. The issue is when they can jump out of range, heal up (warriors and thieves are notorious for this), and come right back in while you haven’t been able to replenish your health or death shroud during that time. Necro sustain comes entirely from hitting our enemies currently, so the new traits will help improve that drastically.
