While Necromancers without a doubt have a large pool of improvements that are required, (which would take a full day to explain) we currently have a vantage that no other class has.

Its called the Spectral Bungee Cord! trademark

Ever wanted to survive those 0% survival rate fatal falls? Its easy, unless you have bad timing.

Equip Spectral walk in one of your utility slots. Go to an extremely high place with a massive fall. Do not use Spec walk yet. Once you are mentally prepared, jump off!

Use the camera angles wisely, because if you time it poorly you’ll die (or take heavy damage) When your near the ground, immediately activate spectral walk and spectral recall afterward. You see, by recalling while falling, it actually resets the fall rate. You can make it so that you take no damage at all from a high cliff!

This was viable after spectral walk got that buff, and I’ve been using it ever since. I made a topic about it awhile back but I don’t think anyone remembers

Does this help the fact that necromancers are in dire need of buffs? No, not at all. But it is something exclusive to us necros to be able to survive from such falls. And… its fun. =)

So go now, and try out the Spectral Bungee Cord! trademark

hmmm there’s a easier way, when your falling, just go in Deathshroud, since it’s pretty much a 2nd life bar it just brings your life force down a certain % depending of the height of the fall. I call it the deathsroud trademark !

What Shady said, you can also just pop DS and survive stupidly high falls too, although I would imagine OP’s method should theoretically work no matter the initial height, whereas DS does eventually not tank enough.

hmmm, i’ve did high jumps in WvW with just a small % of LifeForce which would just bring it down to 0% and not remove a single Hp

I’m not certain of this. I’ve fallen from the top of the Karka nest to the bottom and survived with death shroud. To my knowledge, there is no higher fall in the game.

Well, unless you count the one that kills you in midair outside Rata Sum.

Still, Necros in WvW should keep this capability in mind. Cliffs are your best friend: an easy kill with good positioning, or an easy escape that only another necro can chase you down.

Interesting, it must have been changed since I tried it last. I do remember that really high jumps used to kill me through death shroud (obviously falls into an abyss would, but I wasn’t meaning though), but I haven’t done it in a long time.

Ehh, I’ll stick to cliff diving, it’s simpler and gets off all you need to know about how bad kitten it is. Using death shroud to jump works, but wait till you land and that random mesmer just finished killing a deer 10 or so meters away. Not to mention it leaves you horribly vulnerable to the guys who trait for decreased damage if the drop is survivable.

Arena net can turn the necromancer upside down for all I care (they won’t), as long as they leave spectral walk alone I will continue to play this class.
