The corruption shotgun
Core necromancer shroud might actually end up better for condition builds that want to burst.
That may be true, though that will depend on the boon dependence in the new meta. And reaper gives condi necros high sustained damage through chill, as well as stability, which shouldn’t be overlooked.

So whats the point of spiteful spirit now if weakening shroud does it all better?
Dagger 5 is now a ground-targeted boon corrupt…whats the point of axe 3 now?
You can stack them, Well of corruption + spiteful spirit + unholy feast + enfeebling blood + Weakening Shroud means you can AoE corrupts 9 boons on a point. So people will be dealing with all those conditions.

Different traitline, different mainhand, doubling up on entering-shroud effects. Plus, Spiteful was buffed with this.

Wasn’t just the ICD removed?
There was no point for Spiteful Spirit, and there still isn’t, because signet of corruption is flat out better.

Dark Pact: This skill now also converts up to 2 boons into conditions along with its innate effects.
Weakening Shroud: The effect triggered off of this trait now converts up to 1 boon into a condition. And add the good old path of corruption trait to that and you get 5 boon converted (1 of which is in a aoe), then follow it up with a instant cast 2 sec long fear.
Core necromancer shroud might actually end up better for condition builds that want to burst.
Dark pact is on main hand dagger, so it will never see use on a condition necromancer. I think you also mistook it for Dark Path

Unless you’re not running signets.

Yes, that’s a big buff. It played terribly with shroud before, you could not rely on it.
Regarding Dark Pact, I think there’s plenty of room for hybrid builds to run dagger and scepter or staff, especially with the new amulets.
As mentioned, it will be curious to see how prevalent boons are without rune of durability in the mix, but I think it’s going to be a fun time, I think we will finally have tools to be very hardcore boon and condi manipulation. (yes it’s been a strong theme of the class, but this is a massive increase in our boon corruption)

What Mega said. You now don’t have to take Unholy Fervor to get Spiteful Spirit to play nice with your normal shroud cd (which further kills UF). It also buffs the synergy between Speed of Shadows and SS.
The damage discrepancy between SS and Unholy Feast remains, even though the combat log tooltips are the same (though the trait tooltipss are not).
