I predict as soon as minion is fixed and consistent that there will be a build or 2 that will be borderline OP. For those of us who have toyed with minion elite and various minion builds while still retaining a great deal of survivability and power/condition damage, know that if they always worked they would be pretty………

Once they debug it, minions will prolly get nerfed 1-2 week after.

I’m pretty sure bunker build with minion will be really really strong.

You keep your tankness while still outputing some nice damage.

Just like how Ranger are getting back in the game now. They got their pet AI buffed, and now tank build + dps pet = ownage.

But when will it happens Zenyoga? We asked for a debug since release, and just last week they asked us to continu testing for more information. Meaning that they prolly didn’t find the issue yet.

Rotthen (Necro) / Zhyx (Engineer) /Inglorious Beasterd (Ranger)
Server : Anvil Rock (Since Release!) [SOLO]

Yeah I still have issues with my minions. I attack an enemy and half of them just stand there doing nothing. Sometimes even after I’ve started taking damage. If anything we need a mechanic like the ranger’s F1 to let us tell our pets to attack a specific target. That’s not too much to ask for, is it?

I think most of the classes are fine, but for some reason my necro still feels either really squishy or really underpowered, depending on how I’ve specced. I’m probably just speccing my traits wrong or using the wrong utilities. >_<

CrazyAce, I had the same problem for a long time. I suggest changing around your build often, trying new things and traits, even if they seem dumb. My first few builds also had me feeling squishy but though experimentation I was able to find something that worked, and worked well.

Also, just in case you came to GW2 from another MMO, don’t forget to dodge. A lot of the mobs would be straight-up too strong in a game like WoW because they hit so hard, but if you learn their animations and dodge the important attacks they are not bad at all.

minions are really good, cause you can go almost full condition build, and have great white damage from minions, it’s just that in PvE they die almost instantly if something looks at them, and in PvP they die pretty fast too, but if you bring The bone fiend, flesh golomn, get the 50pct more health trait, and the 33pct more damage trait, those 2 alone deal some pretty good damage, it’s just that they don’t attack most of the time and when they’re on cooldown you’re very weak with all the traitpoints that could otherwise still be helping you.

Bone fiend alone without the damage trait is pretty good for a condition necro. It has 100% projectile finisher = more conditions if there are fields and walls. If they ever fix the spectral wall bug (the etheral combo field is where the necro is, not where the wall is) we may even have confusion as a condition.

That’s how the wall works… cause i have cast the wall ontop of my self, and then cast putrid mark and still no chaos armor.

Minions are not broken as far as Anet is concerned. So your prediction is broken.

Not OP, but balanced. The class is designed entirely around the fact that we do decent damage and have great survivability with minions. Kill the minions and we are gone.
That is why the class has no cc breakers, weak cc and (when minions are slotted) almost no condition removal.
It’s for this reason that I really disagree with most of the “buff this” “buff that” posts we have on this forum. Fix the bugs and we are a solid, balanced class. On par with Warrior, Guards, Mesmers and Ele’s. Start buffing our damage and giving us cc breakers and movement abilities and when the bug fixes finally come rolling in we become so kittenedly OP that we get nerfed back to where we are now with no hope of return…
