Ok, I have calmed down from the nerfs to path of corruption, CC and terror specs.
So we now have a new condition spec which seems very strong. It is rabid and will go into spite for:
Bitter chill
Chill of death
Signets of suffering
Curses for:
Plague sending
Terror
Weakening shroud (I guess?)
Soul reaping for:
Soul marks – finally some life force on condi
Vital persistance/master of terror (shame these two compete because they have synergy)
Foot in the grave
Then use well of blood, signet of spite, Plague signet, corrupt boon, plague form (is it viable? Its a biggish nerf).
Staff and scepter/dagger
Nightmare runes.
Alternative;y you could not go into soul reaping and could gain your life force from the passive of signet of undeath.

You think the heal is worth it? The cast time is horrendus and it only heals for 4k. Which is about 1/5 our life pool.

pretty much sums it up. It’s the best of what we have.
If you’re going to use scepter, I’d think of using Lingering Curse over Weakening Shroud, though IMO they are all pretty good for the idea in mind (LC to increase the damage of the converted boons, Weakening Shroud for the Weakness, and Parasitic Contagion to make all your DoTs HoTs for yourself).
Also, for some team support (I’m assuming this is for PvP, yes?) you could drop Soul Reaping for Blood Magic to pick up Transfusion (other two traits could be Blood Bond/Quickening Thirst and Vampiric Presence.) You’d lose out on the life force marks and Shroud stunbreak, but IMO having the ability to teleport teammates out of stomps is something that is just too awesome not to at least consider.

True. Forgot about that trait in blood magic. Blood bond. It seems really powerful but we dont know what lesser signet of vampirism is. Could it be the signet without the self heal? The problem is that soul reaping offers such good options for LF generation. You would have to ditch corrupt boon for signet of undeath if you wanted to go into blood magic. Also there is no amulet that you can use in pvp that will give you healing power and precsision with condi damage and toughness. Therefore I am not convinced you can go into blood magic, as cool as it seems potentially. Which is a shame! We could be corruption machines in blood magic.
I actually really like the idea of a power signet necro, with SoV and Plague Sig, with blood magic and soul reaping till expansion comes, when I replace blood magic with reaper.
What about dropping terror for master of corruption and taking corrupt boon, CC and Plague form? A sort of corruption/signet hybrid. The fact you get more conditions from the corruption skills is interesting because it is often an upside in pvp. Espciailly with unblockable marks

Aren’t these things random so that the moment you are over 5 condi’s you are actually gambling if your condi’s will be sent, meaning having those extra condition being used?

What about Signet of Vampirism? It would get all the goodness from Signets of Suffering, stacking might, corrupting boons and lowering it’s cooldown to 28 secs (less than the new CC) and the fact it’s life siphon would heal through shroud means you can pop it just before entering DS and still get healing for yourself afterwards.
Some off the cuff math that I just did suggests that traited Signet of Vampirism, assuming you proc the life siphon at least five times (which IIRC is the max you can expect one player to do) would heal as much in 28secs as the new, untraited Consume Conditions would in 30secs when cleansing one extra condition (assuming you Healing Power is zero). With no conditions, the breakout point where SoV heals more for it’s cast time than CC is 3 siphons. Considering your going to get a lot of your condi removal from the usual Staff/Dagger 4, as well as Plague Signet and the new Plague Sending, actually using Signet of Vampirism (as long as you also have Signets of Suffering) might not mark you as a crazy person anymore.

But with this spec we have:
1, The passive plague sigent transfer of 5 condis – 24s cd
2, Active plague signet of 5 condis – 24s cd
3, Putrid mark for 3 condis – 20s cd
4, deathly swarm – 3 condis – 18s cd
That is a ton of transfer. I know that means actually hitting skills but it seems we have enough transfer to actively want more conditions from our corruption skills and a 20 second consume conditions cooldown seems very strong. Another way to cleanse yourself.
The one problem is you cannot use these in plague form (except the passive maybe???). If the passive transfer works every 24s in plague form then I think plague form becomes amazing on a 120s cd. If not plague form sucks as getting 2 condis from the start of plague form is bad as conditions is what kills plague form.

Well you still have to cast the signet which is a 1.25s cast.

Plus it’s the same cast time as CC, so it’s not like your more exposed on the initial cast of Signet of Vampirism as you are with Consume Conditions.
So pop it, enter death shroud, then spam life blast/Life Transfer and get the rest of your healing in the relative safety of your Foot in the Grave DS.
The heal is interesting. I think if the active self heal had a base of 5k instead of 4k then it could be worth it.
Another thing for pvp is can you run a necro without flesh wurm? Being able to port out and heal when immobalised is pretty important. However having plague form on a 120s cooldown could mean you dont need wurm anymore.

For conditions it is the only option it seems. And the signet trait is probably the strongest trait necromancers have. Or so it seems to me.
Another option would be to not run signet and to go for:
Curses for:
Plague sending
Master of corruption
Weakening shroud
Soul reaping for:
Soul marks
vital persistance
dhuumfire
And one other line. With rabid, Traveller runes, staff and scepter/dagger, CC, Wurm, Corrupt boon, corrosive poison cloud/spectral walk/well of power/signet of skill, plague form.
This is probably a much safer spec to run. What other line could be used for this spec. Could still go into spite for the signet trait even with just the signet of skill and the passive signet proc? It is probably still worth it.
