thief’s steal skill will now be separate from their stolen bundle.
their stolen bundle will now show on F2.
they can use F1 again at any time as long as it has finished Cool down and they can also now see their F1 cooldown.

anet calls this a Quality of life change
i call it a buff

does this mean there is hope for necros to see our utility cooldowns while we are in DS? and even use our utilities while we are in shroud?

Well, it is both a buff and QoL change for thieves. As to being able to see our cooldowns in a Shroud form, that would be a small but much appreciated QoL change.

If they ever allowed utilities to be used in Shroud form, it would be a drastic QoL improvement and Necros everywhere reading that change as official would just…

it is a buff because previously

1) can’t see their steal cooldown
2) had to use their stolen bundle first before they can use their steal again

whether they use the bundle and cancel it immediately is another matter.

now they don’t have to, and have the option of using steal or bundle

this opens up more options and moves for them.

e.g. when they fight us, if they dont use their fear bundle, they can use their steal again and again on us until they want to interrupt us with the fear.

We should defintly aim for being able to see utilty CDs while in DS, its just simple quality of life.

Using utilitys WHILE in DS?
Pretty much the above melting Fry. They are doing reworks, but i dont think this one will happen, i would hope for fixing inconsistencies with “transforms” due to “Stronghold Rampage OPOPOP” posts – so we can activate the stabilty mid chanel.

Seriously though that change makes sense, but I doubt it will affect skill visibility in transformations because having your stolen ability moved to a different slot simply means that you always see the f1 icon, so in that sense it’s really nothing new.

It should mean that they give necros QoL changes, but it doesn’t mean they will. Good news for my theif though.

I honestly don’t even see how this is QoL but more like a random buff that steal didn’t need. It’s really not hard to keep track of the steal cd, and you just burn the bundle on air if you want steal to use again. It really is not killing them to have to waste a bundle every now and then.

The QoL fix is worth it because there are certain steal items you do not want to use. There is a rifle which launched you back when you use it. It basically CC’s yourself. But you have to use it to steal again. This solves that issue.

Why? That wastes a 3 second fear form the most part when you daze them. It’s not the best use of resources against a necro.

Fancy trick I guess but spreading out the cc is more valuable. Now, doing it against a warrior or guardian… that’s interesting.

Except that “fancy trick” can be done without traiting Steal at all. It will be baseline.
