Think we got some fixes.
It’s a start and the new Spectral Walk is definitely an upgrade. Now on to add some Oomph to, well, most other skills, so we can actually fit it into some builds…
Ah, pessimists.
Dunno how I managed to function as one for so much of my life.
It’s a good start, Arenanet!
Keep ’em coming!
Oh, also I don’t think you included the Life Force % gained from Spectral Walk.
It’s mentioned in the description text but no stats for it are shows.
I’m guessing (out on a limb) that it’s either 1% or 3%
It’s 5%.
Also I would have taken a working chillblains over these :/
It’s a start at least.
Who talks about pve? A bunch of people grouped together is… You got it a mob!
@ Ascii – you can’t die while in death shroud bro u go back to normal mode, people are mixing the matrix with real gaming life too much.
I was referring to getting out of DS and using the skill before dying.
Also… just for you.
GF, i guess this is the matrix after all.
that is falling damage…

First Anet’s reaction for our legit complains was “you all just don’t know how to use DS”. So yeah, sorry for not being an unreasonable funboy.
Actually, no, and the “Death Shroud” thing you’re misquoting was clarified shortly afterwards.
What they said near the top of the bug thread you linked was “I would encourage other profession forums to do the same thing so that we can iron out all of the kinks in skills & traits so that we can more easily figure out which aspects require balance updates and which are just a matter of bugs.” They want to see how Necros work when their bugs have been fixed before reworking the class.
They’re fixing thekittenbugs in preparation for the balance updates and they apparently still don’t deserve a break or any credit for doing what people are asking them to do.
You may not be an “unreasonable funboy” but you are definitely unreasonable so apology accepted.

So yay some fixes!… Too bad we still suck and half our skills are still broken or woefully UP (every single Vampiric trait)
Too little, too late.
I was actually hoping they would swap the activation on Spectral Walk.
I do wish they bumped the duration to 10s so you have more time to do stuff, akin to other shadowsteps.
Well, i updated The Compilation.
We had 117 reports, now 87. Thats about 30 fixes related to last patch changes.
They messed some things that they fixed. Like increasing Marks Radius but not its radius effect… and Spectral Wall tooltip and skillbar wrong CD duration. But its an advance.
I did another full rework to the thread. As you can see i moved all tooltips to the end.
This is to “prioritize” real bugs from simple annoying things.
Thanks to all the collaborators that report and test the bugs. We do a great Team
Spectral walk – does not break stun despite what the tooltip says.
Axe training – does not seem to reflect the damage increase on the abilities tooltip.
Mark of revival trait – does not seem to create a mark when reviving (if I am not confusing with Ritual of Life trait).
I think people just do not understand the amount of work required to do an MMO. People expect every new MMO to be as polished as WoW day 1. It’s just not gonna happen, and for the record WoW at this stage of its MMO life was a disaster.
From my perspective they are doing a great job. I don’t pve, so maybe Necros are total trash there and maybe not. But WvW if you are not enjoying yourself you are doing something wrong.
Wow. This place is even more complainy than the Ranger thread in the Beta. And that’s saying a lot.
They finally gave you some fixes. Did it fix everything? Hardly. Would you have preferred no fixes at all?
I also love the mentality “The more disrespect we show ANet, the more they’ll do for us!” Really motivates people in all the right ways, I’m sure.
I’m playing a necro, and I like it. Meh. Thanks for the work, ANet!
I really do hate having to add my two cents to this topic, but it’s in desperate need of positive support.
I find it difficult to believe that ArenaNet has PROVEN their willingness to fix the issues necromancers are currently experiencing, and yet there are still so many people desperately trying to find an excuse to continue insulting their efforts and intentions.
I speak on behalf of all the necromancers too busy enjoying their class and remaining too optimistic to read over this disheartening forum when I say, “Thank you.”

They did not fix the major bugs. They have had since the first BWE to fix the major bugs. Sorry but fixing some bugs after months of them doing nothing, only gets a golf clap. Sorry we expect them to put out a finished product.

I would assume that happens because you took so much damage that it was enough to consume your DS life pool and your “normal mode” hitpoints as well. You fell from too high.
Remember, the max damage you can take in DS isn’t equivalent to a whole other life bar. I haven’t worked out the equivalency of Life:HP yet, but I’ve often had my entire Life Pool consumed by 2 hits from full in pvp.
@manveruppd
Sadly you are wrong. If you take falling damage your Lifefore Pool works as your Health Pool, if you have not enough Lifeforce left to survive, you will die, no matter how much Health you have.

they have had months to fix Necro it had major bugs since BWE1 wich they were told about, and only thing that happened was we got nerfed for BWE2-3 and then they dangle a carrot saying we require the most “love” and hit us with another nerf then again another month for 10 bug fixes out of how many last i check around 100… most of the fixes wont help us at all and one is just a lie Chillblain is still a tiny circle so now with a bigger trigger circle it makes the trait worse for using it with Chillblain others were very minor problems though i do like that we now have a swiftness utility that doesnt punish us for using it like evry other profession gets access too ( without the punishment part too ) and oh yeah we never got that “love” Though we should probably be happy about that since that love considering the last time is probably a rusty pipe.

Maybe is just me but i feel less powerfull than i was…i dont know what is it. I have the same build same weapons but in spvp…..anyone had the same feeling?
Or maybe i was just in a bad day. x’D

Good job guys !
100% World completion.
Minions need to attack the target you have targeted always. That would be nice. Instead they stand there or run off to attack something else lol

Yeah, folks need to get a little perspective, by all accounts GW2 has held its own since launch remarkably well considering the history of MMO launches.
At any rate I don’t think PvE is really that big of a trouble area for necros, minion AI and bugfixes would help but I can still survive situations on my necro that would destroy most of my other characters.
Seems to me most of the complaining is centered around necro performance in sPvP where our survivability to damage ratio leaves us lacking. Could be wrong but that’s the impression I get.
A even bigger problem than sPvP is tPvP. Currently the necro is that broken/weak/bugged that he’s a burden for his team. It doesn’t matter that much in sPvP since you all teams are random, but as soon as you can build your team, you just want chars that are helpful. It’s sad, but the necro is currently the only profession I would never include in a tPvP team.

I think the way falling works is actually a scripted death when your character falls a certain amount, and a % of max health if the fall isn’t fatal (hence why everyone has equal falling tolerance)
elementalists have the same problem in vapor form (worse even, it’s supposed to be an immunity to damage), either that or vapor in tyria is heavier than air and has bones to break…
Just to clear things up Spectral walk always allowed you to gain LF when hit although i dont think it was written in the tool tip… Although this works much better while in DS as you gain life force instead of losing it. Spectral walk > Death shroud > Life transfer > ??? > Profit
