He could be talking about Warrior and just got in the wrong forum. We all know that they (and thieves) have stronger fears than we do and don’t rely entirely on it either.
As a decent necromancer anytime I face 3 people I usually bring them all to half health. Then after my short stability is gone I begin to meet the floor with my face until I am dead. OP you might be talking about the hammer warrior class with his fear me abilitiy.

Well, you could:
- Dodge the fear
- Prevent the fear entirely with Stability
- Stunbreak the fear
- remove the Fear through condition cleansing (whether passive, instant-cast, or allied)
- run some vitality so you can survive a couple seconds of condition damage
TLDR: You’re bad. Hate to break it to you.

Ummm…stun breaks? Condition removal? Dodge (assuming we’re talking about Reaper’s Mark)?
For the record, I’m not a terror-based condimancer. I’m not defending it because I have a vested interest in damage from Fear. I’m defending it because (a) it’s not OP and (b) my fellow necros who do use it rely on it as a source of damage essential to their builds.
Before suggesting something be nerfed, be sure there’s a legitimate reason behind it beyond simply refusing to use the counters available to you.

It ticked once per second at 1k damage(average if speced) if they have cond on them, can be broken, stability prevents it as a whole and after fear is used up it has a monster CD.
While i dont think its overpowered, fighing a terrormancer can be, like fighting against any cc heavy build (knockback engies,cc warriors), frustrating.

So…let me get this straight…you run into a heavily aoe’d area that’s already so cluttered you can’t make out what’s in it…yet continue to run in it anyway, then complain about the effects of your actions?

Yes – I, the person who most definitely created this topic and complained about fear, repeatedly run into walls of fear while playing as a necromancer who creates said walls of fear.
On a more serious note, I’m going to guess you’ve never fought over a point in a PvP match where multiple mesmers/necromancers/rangers were involved while guardians are shooting bloom everywhere.

I have however /danced while an enemy Elementalist rained a meteor shower on me.
So I guess we all have our “full kitten” moments.
Currently, The longest AoE Fear possible can be over 9 seconds. How?
Involves some RNG, very good communication, Terror Necromancer with Epidemic and up to 5 targets.
And The Boar (Ranger’s Pet).
Currently, Boar can spawn one of three bundle CC weapons :
-Rock, thrown 2 sec daze (meh)
-Bone, melee 3 sec stun
-And Skull, same as Thief’s Fear.
With this patch, Moment of Clarity grants Rangers +100% duration on all Fears, Stuns and Dazes. So basic durations become more like 4, 6 and 6. However, Fear counts as a Condition and can be increased by condition duration. Even in sPvP, you can achieve total of +150% Fear duration from 30 in MM tree, Runes of Necromancer and MoC, which makes bundle single-target fear basic longer fear, and outside of PvP use food to get +190% duration and pass 9 seconds…
So, once Ranger uses imba Boar skull fear, Epidemic it! Bam, 9 second 600 range AoE CC, more conditions and 9 terror ticks

all you had to do was use your long cool down elite to stomp. I mean doesn’t every class?
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
OP, the last thing these necro forums needs is someone calling for nerfs on one of the last mechanics necro does well. Running a fear build means you sacrafice survivability due to dumping points into the spite and curses tree. When fear doesn’t work you get roflstomped by pretty much every guardian/warrior pairing there is.
L2P and use some stun breaks for goodness sakes. Necro is one of the weakest classes in the game currently if you don’t count zerg-play.
