For some time now I’ve felt that the spectral skills don’t feel all that “otherworldly”. I also would love to see more spectral type skills implemented for our class. For the existing ones, however, I wanted to throw in my two cents.

Spectral Armor: Since we are technically switching to an ethereal form, why not add the distortion effect?

Spectral Grasp: Should be unblockable since it attacks from another plane of existence.

Spectral Walk: Similar to Spectral Armor, or add Protection buff if distortion is too much.

Spectral Wall: Not sure what to do with this one, has seen improvement over the years so I think it works.

Lich Form: comparing this to Rampage and I’m not impressed. If they added a 25% damage reduction just like Rampage is (we are in an ethereal form after all) and change stability to resistance, it could help overall.

I’ve always loved the theme of spectral skills, but I feel it’s just not there yet. Please give me your thoughts on this if some of these ideas could work.

Spetral armor and spectral wall are fine as they are, spectral walk should remove snares (cripple, chill, immob) upon casting and spectral grasp should be more reliable and being unblockable would certainly help.

That is basically my opinion on spectral skills without Lich. Lich probably need a rework to make skills 2-4 more useful and maybe something else.

SA: distortion would be far too strong for the full duration, however distortion (or some similar effect) would be great for a very short period after casting, in order to give us a way to deal with massive hits in PvE, and in PvP it would allow us to break a stun, absorb some immediate followup hits, then have good damage reduction afterwards.

SG: not a bad idea

SWalk: distortion still too strong, give it something to enhance the mobility aspect or maybe all projectiles go through you for the duration

SWall: I’d like to see it do something with projectiles

Distortion for 6-12 seconds would be way too strong on either skill. Spectral armor needs to go back to 3% lf on hit with no icd, and grant like 3 stacks of stab for it’s duration (scaling defense).

The main problem with grasp is that it is unreliable, and is hard to fit into builds. It would be better if they fixed the reliability, made it hit multiple targets, and/or granted a boon like retal.

Spectral walk’s problem for me is that it doesn’t allow you to get out of immobilize and doesn’t give you stab or protection (thus it won’t prevent a cc chain unless you stun break and dodge roll and even then you are still vulnerable). Stun breaks that don’t do that are kind of bad imo. It would be cool if walk made you immune to movement impairing conditions for its duration.

Spectral Wall: It has a long cd for a its 5 second duration. This skill would be nice if it reflected projectiles, and I don’t think that would be op for a 45 second cd.

Lich: This skill is only really useful for killing downed people (stab ripping, and you can pretty much guarantee the damage). If you pop it at the beginning of a team fight, and you don’t instantly get focused and forced to leave than the people your playing are bad. They need to buff 2-5 with either reduced cast times or stronger effects.

As I said, distortion would be super OP on walk or armor. Grasp being unblockable wouldn’t do much unless it was also more reliable and granted a boon. Lich without stab would be even easier to kill, so I don’t think that’s a good idea. I’m not really for the % damage reduction either cause that’s just more passive poo the game doesn’t need.
