So i find these two skills incredibly fun to use for the teleports. I just dont see them get used that much and i kinda wonder “why?”. I was playing some random pvp match where i just kept juking people with it and then attacking from long range with marks. Worked really well in those chaotic matches anyway.

Just wondering what other necros think of these skills

They are great, consider that they also build LF that’s just a bonus. I think the hesitation is the relativity long cool downs.

Myself im not a huge fan of spectral walk but i love my wurm for so… many reasons.

The teleport is, I don’t see why the summon needs to be – you’ll obviously cast it before you get stuck in so you can get out of trouble by teleporting

A bad necromancer always blames the corpse.

And if you need fast long-range teleport? Ele and mesmer can do this, necro can’t. You reach cast point faster, then it ends.

I love spectral walk in wvw, I have used it before jumping off cliffs and watching the people jump after me then port back up always makes me laugh.

It’s also a great mobility tool when running supply it saves me loads of time.

I love spectral walk, it’s one of my default utility skills. Amazing for exploration, one of the better movement skills necro has access to, breaks stun, looks amazing, teleports you out if you (planned to) overextend.

I hate the wurm. I saw an old video of it being heavily abused to teleport around, tried it out ingame, it didn’t work. I tried it for dps, liked the dps, hated the awkward behavior of not despawning out of teleport range. I think I’m disappointed with how little fun it actually was to use.

The wurm is more or less the minion master’s form of a stun break/get out of jail card. You set it down and either the enemy rushes it (making them easy pray for you) or they ignore it and take the 1k damage every couple of seconds on top of knowing you can stun break+teleport at any moment. I consider it to be a purely PvP skill.

Spectral walk is garbage, except for mitigating fall damage (which feels like an exploit).

Flesh wurm is really dumb with the current AI. It used to just randomly attack stuff but now it just sits there unless you are right there with it. The patch that fixed regular minion AI broke spectral wurm AI. The teleport is long cooldown and has it own issues.

Somebody suggested that the wurm ought to give two teleports, one similar o Mesmer blink on cast, and one on skill use. That would make it better, but it still wouldn’t make the cut on most players skill bars.

Wurm is really helpful when your being trained. For that reason its always on my utility bar.

If your in a middle of the fight and you don’t have it out and there is people behind you. Cause of the slow cast time, instead of casting it in front of you, pan your camera and cast it behind the people that chase you for a full 1200 range teleport behind them. It works really well try it out!

From there if you have your camera pan’d you can just throw down the counter pressure with your marks. Wurm gives you really good kiting options : D
