Q:

Why necromancers have no projectile finishers except necrotic grasp with %20 chance?
Why necromancers have no leap finishers at all?
Why necromancers have no whirl finishers except dat kitten spear, only usable in water?

With lots of fields and such why? Explain me please.

Because Anet.
Axe 3 should be a blast finisher (just look at the animation)
Focus 4 should be a projectile finisher, since it is literally a projectile, same with spectral grasp and dark path.
Life blast should be a small projectile like every other projectile autoattack.

Sadly we don’t really have anything like a leap on land, except sort of golem charge, and the closest thing to a whirl we have is axe 2.

Because its a team game, and with few exceptions (eles) very few classes get a lot of finishers and fields in one.

Also, minions have finishers galore. Bone minions = 2x blast finisher, Bone fiend = 2x projectile finisher (100%), Flesh Wurm = 1x projectile finisher & 1x Blast finisher (although to be fair you’ll pretty much never get a finisher with it except by sheer luck).

It’s a team game and what? A warrior or thief gets the advantage of every combo field with nearly every skill. Necros have nothing but watch they appear and dissapear on a fight. We have only one nearly(!) direct blast via putrid mark and it needs to be triggered by enemy. Other 2 comes from utility and via sacrificing minions. So nearly no combo for necro.

If you say necros haven’t got finishers but lots of fields. You’re wrong too. Necros can create 4 type of fields and 3 of them directly come from utilities and only one from saff that needs to be triggered again.

Since I can’t equip 8 utilites it feels so wrong. Oh I forgot minions with 5 IQ and 0 EQ can sometimes make combos. So sorry I’m so relived now….

Staff 3, Well of Blood/Suffering/Corruption/Power, CPC, Spectral wall, and up to 6 Death Novas. In a single build, that means you could easily have 5 combo fields and still be considered viable.

Guardians and Elementalists (and Eles only when Staff) are the only classes that can match our combo field output, which makes sense considering they are both considered support classes (and even then, they follow the general rules of more fields = less finishers).

Thieves have barely any fields, same as warriors. The tendency is that the more fields you have, the fewer finishers you get (MM being a complete break away, having up to 7 fields and up to 7 finishers). What happens is builds with lots of finishers then set up combos for their teammates, thus creating a necessity for teamwork for actually maximizing efficiency. The general best is that you have moderate of each, and then can combo off of yourself, but even then you want allies comboing with you for added effects.

Engi have a lots of combo field and finishers too, without needing help. The team argument isn’t really valid at this point. Guild wars 2 is a beautiful game, but on my necro I feel like I miss some of the best parts of it, and I didn’t even notice it until I’ve played another class. When I started an engi, combo field this, flaming bullet, might stacking, water field leap and blast, mass stealth WOW! It was a new game.

You can still play all the game and do good without a single combo, but once you find about them, you will miss them. In that sense I don’t regret starting with a necro hehe, I didn’t know what I was missing.

Field management is like the next step of skills set you can learn, and I would love necro to take part in that game too. I already almost AoE-Perma Weakness without combos, I don’t see how giving me more access to finishers on my own poison field would be OP. Same for Blind. It would gives us access to more team play, where I could use others field to benefit everyone.

Gives us access to Spear and Trident on land!
