For me it’s the guardian. I have an 80 thief, and of course my 80 necro, and with the lack of changes, appalling lack of communication from the dev’s (or even feedback), I have gotten to the point where I have to play another class to continue to have fun. I’ll log in to run Arah one time a day, so I can slowly grab arah armor, but doubtful I will be back on the necro full time until the devs wake up and adjust this class. I have just lost hope that the devs are even paying attention.

GL with your necros guys, because let’s face it, this is Guardian/thief/mesmer wars, with some other classes in to increase our diversity.

Yet, the Guardian/ Thief/ Mesmer keep getting most of the nerfs in all the latest patches.

It’s never a good idea to pick a profession based on builds that get balanced every week or two.

I’ll tell you what, I chose a class (the necro) based on how interested I was in the class, only to learn, through trial and error, that my class did not work how it was stated on paper. On paper – sounds awesome; in gameplay you eventually learn it is weak, and you’re STILL busting your kitten to be substandard.

Ok, not weak, but not working fully due to the amount of bugs, and F-ed trait lines. We are still forced to play certain ways (imo) to be valid. Quick example, I have such a hard time bouncing between builds in my thief because they are all so kitten effective and just demand a slightly diff playing style/weapons combo.

On my necro, i have tried diff builds, but keep getting pulled back into one or two builds to be worth crap.

Necros are in bad shape. The rangers, even though they didn’t get anything out of the patch, are still worth playing.

I went with guardian. I’m not running a FOTM build so I don’t care about the nerfs.

It’s nice to play a class where all the skills on my bar actually do something.

I started out as a guardian and it was fun all the way to 80. The necro to me like a previous post sounds good on paper but it just doesnt work. Its lackluster has no oomph to it.

The staff is entirely skill based as in a skillshot weapon unlike most others. The only thing about it that isnt a skillshot is the auto attack. Most games with skillshot classes or weapons or champions like in LoL reward landing the skills and it does a ton of damage, but the marks are so… weak. The axe isnt good at all and its what you start out with. Dagger has mobility issues and i wouldnt run it at all when doing DE’s like the Champ Risen Abom. You will have your other weapon out most of the time which would be probably the scepter since people dont know how to kite though marks if you happen to miss one.

I think they need a redesign with the necro. My warrior is 10 times more fun to level I just wish the axe #5 was better than it is right now.

Ive also yet to have a necro beat me either on my warrior or my guardian and I dont even really have to try to beat them.

Engineer or Mesmer don’t seem to have our isses. Ranger is functional but it is like watching paint dry to play. I can’t even get my conditions to calculate properly, I am losing about 30% of my dps as if it wasn’t bad enough to begin with.

I have imposed a 12 month ban on any monetary purchases for anet and ncsoft, if it goes another month with no major fixes then it is up to 3 year ban, if it goes 3 months without the class being fixed then it will be life ban.

Don’t release products this badly tested and don’t drag your feet fixing the issues, instead deciding to focus on holiday events. Get the game working properly first.

Anet might want to review the ‘no news is good news’ policy.

My main is a Ranger. You know the story there. Then I switched to Necro. It’s a fun class! But well, you know the story here too. Am I supposed to play what Anet decides are the best professions or the ones I enjoy? Cuz uh…it seems like I’ll have to dust off my lvl 20 Guardian if i want to be competative here. Or at least ya know, have skills that work the way they’re written.

Since the nerf to spectral walk I hate my necro, I find it slow and cumbersomeI just don’t understand why they done that. It was pretty much the only thing (imo) that made necro’s viable in tPvP. It really does show just how ANet thinks, there’s what, 100 necro bugs? They fix only 3 in this patch, 1 of them being the only positive one we had.

Guardian is my least interested class, mine is just taking up a character slot gathering dust and I might dump it and reroll an engineer or elementalist one day. I play my necro the most (pvp, dungeon, events) and my mesmer when I want to farm mats and loot in the Orr, and then there’s the thief and warrior but I hardly ever play the thief and I like the hammer and dual axe setup on warrior.

Yeah, necros, rangers and elementalists could have been at a better state. Guardians, thieves, mesmers, are too strong. (Warriors are more balanced than what you may think, but that’s also what makes them a great option to pick up.)

As an elementalist, I understand what it is to play the underdog, and this patch has been the first one where we have truly got a relevant buff. To be fair, necros have been getting a lot of attention in previous patches (which is easy to understand why), while elementalists close to none (or bug fixes that made them worse, or nerfs with new bug fixes).

Necros are still very deadly in WvW. I am sad about the SW patch… i was using it then switching to epidemic.

Also thieves are not as overpowered as everyone thinks. Necros eat thieves for lunch even with rendering issue. I do agree that thieves have better traits than necros.

I had a blast leveling as a minion spec necro. It was fun and powerful. If you heal your pets its honestly one of the best solo specs around of any class.

However, the end game for me is wvw and spvp. I have played quite abit of spvp when the game first began and I did ok as power and condition builds. Power is somewhat fun however now that the game has been out for awhile people are better at countering it and are organized. Condition spec is pretty powerful but it is extremely boring.

The game balance seems out of line. Power builds require deathshroud above 50% or lich to do adequate damage. The range on the DS nuke is only 900. Outside of this you need to be dagger because staff damage is very low. Smart players save the burst for when your in DS to bring it down below 50% or kite around pillars etc wasting your nukes. 900 range is too short for walls. Other classes have superior advantages in utility when they use power builds and are more useful.

You also lack the ability to regen without DS or mark of blood so often sieges etc are better done with other classes that can provide this. You can also get kited as none condition and often can get classes that out regen you running around objects etc. Its very frusterating.
