If the other garbage that isn’t part of the elite spec doesn’t change as well, it will still wipe out 50% of the remaining necro population IMO.

At least the necros that actually know how to necro and don’t still think it has a 2nd life bar.

Half of me probably doesn’t want to see this but I’ll suck it up until the end, that’s what most us have been doing for 3 years anyway. If they don’t reverse three years worth of unnecessary nerfs and trolling ….I don’t know.

It was a reference to all the “If this thing gets more AI I’m leaving for good” , “If this spec name is as bad as DH I’m quitting Necro” and similar comments :p

The purpose of specializations should be that each class has options. Not that one is broken, and the other is not. Because then everyone will clearly pick the one that isn’t broken.

I’m hopeful. I’ve sent them so much detail on Necromancers and I know it went to the balance team so they definitely know and I think they’ll do something with it here.

Aaannd it’s a PoI with her… I just hope Rubee if I remember his name correctly associate necro with anything but war while the idea of a defiance bar may seems good I would rather not have my defense and everything attached to it dependent on opposing fire. I am ready for my twist!!!

They ask me to collect and report on community general consensus. My focus is fractal and dungeon specific, but on certain topics I bleed over into other areas where it makes sense. Balance has been a large topic of mine that I have been working with providing ANet feedback on recently.

He summarises discussions on the fractal & dungeon subforum. And sends them reports of the important topics discussed there. Believe it or not we actually care about equality and balance in the meta so necro being bad gets brought up fairly often.

Also with the lack of news or new dungeon/fractal content we dont really have anything new to discuss apart from class balance in small group content.

They give us the name,a why so simple video and a little summary thursday (today) then we get a stream on friday.

So, did Anet get the memo that our class is bottom of the barrel? Because unless the new necromancer specialization fixes this, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this game. I like playing a necromancer, but it’s absolutely garbage right now, and has been for years.

And I’m not sure if they know we have a sub forum, but if they do, then they may have noticed just how angry the necromancer community is. (and rightly so)

Which means those that said they’d quit because of a bad name or getting spirits etc. would leave today…and maybe come back tomorrow if the PoI shows it isn’t as bad as it sounds. Like DH, everyone went ragemode on traps at first too, now they just rage about the name mostly X)

Ah, okay.
I dont think we’ll get something as lame as dragon hunter. There ve been quite a few really good name suggestions here on the forum. It’s pretty hard to mess that up (however, anet is pretty good in messing things, that usually cant be messed up, up).

True. But keep in mind that the guardian as a class, has not been neglected since day one. Necromancers have a good reason to be pessimistic about the upcoming specialization. Unless it addresses our core class problems, I think many necromancers will see very little reason to continue playing a class that is still rubbish.

But we’ll see. Maybe they completely turn this sinking ship around.

Let’s see, so far we have necro-ish mesmer spec, and ranger-y guardia spec. So we’ll probs get warrior-y necro spec now, especially since both necro and warr are relying on a bar that you need to fill as a class mechanic.

Oh god…what if the defiance bar goes to warriors…

Oh yes, they got the memo. I’ve actually had it specifically confirmed to me before that they are aware of the Necromancer’s situation in PvE.

I have every confidence that they’re going to try to address it, but because of their game design policy of trying to keep things the same between PvP/PvE we can only hope it’ll be good enough. It’s really that game design philosophy that has been keeping the Necromancer down in PvE for so long.
