Torch for Necromancers?
Necros should never have been given burning.
Torch looks awesome, though.
For some reason, I always thought torch will be a great weapons for necros and both torches scream necro IMO
And plz, stop with that “necros don’t burn villages” kitten. fire is not an element (shocking right?) and guess what: without life, there can’t be fire, so fire consume life and who consume life? That’s right, our beloved necromancer

I don’t think burning would have been such an issue if the necromancer’s had to give and take to have access to it. Having it as a weapon rather than just plopping it down in a very accessible section of a trait line would have done wonders for that imo.
I do agree OP. First thing me and my friends thought when we saw that weapon was necromancer, but then we died inside when we saw all the staff skins.

Yes, yes, and yes!
I’ve always wanted Necros to be able to wield torches. And this weapon screams Necromancer.
I really dont want necro’s to have torches but I have to admit that torch skin would look so awesome on a necro.
Heard that every class will be available to hold any weapon in the game… I wish having da hammer!
I actually think the Torch could be a spectacular Necro weapon, but here’s the thing: no burning. Make it a support option. Something like this:
4: Draw Heat: Cure Burning and one other condition from nearby allies, apply Chill and Vulnerability to nearby foes.
5: Corpselight: Ghosts fly out from your position in pulses, blinding and weakening foes while curing Blind and granting Retaliation to allies.
It doesn’t have to be those two things exactly, but just because it’s a torch doesn’t mean it has to apply burning.

Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.
Most Torches have a generic ‘throw torch and apply burning’ skill unfortunately so if Necro did get torch, this would be what I’d expect to see. I’d love to see it as a group utility option though, or have a sweet finisher somehow worked in, like blast, if it grants a fire field on the other skill.
Razah’s Nightmare is so much cooler than the other one

I’d rather see an ice field, personally.

I know, but those skills are boring. I really hope Anet can do better.

Torch with skills that have green otherwordly color would be cool. I agree with previous posters that burning isn’t something I’m thrilled that we got, but if it is here to stay then Torch would be awesome.
Torch also has a dark dungeon vibe to it which I think fits the necromancer.
I like fire! Burn baby burn!
That troll Anet, making so many awesome weapons that look perfect for Necro but can’t (yet?) be used by them. :P
Personally I’d like to see a Torch skill that sets the Necro using it on fire!
…on top of causing other effects, of course.
Unlike the Guardian torch skill this would actually inflict Burning on you.
You could use it with Well of Power for Aegis in a pinch, or just plain consume or transfer it.
And maybe a breath skill that inflicts low duration Burning and Chill repeatedly.
Kind of like the Mistfire Wolf’s attacks.
That might fall under Guardian’s stuff, though, I dunno.
I think that I’d be more excited about Hammer or Sword… but yeah I’d like a Torch, too.

Don’t you have to go 25 into a traitline to do it? I contend that that isn’t exactly “very accessible”.
Of course, I simultaneously contend that it should have been a trait you have to choose, not one of the auto-traits.
30 points into a traitline that only offers you the line’s own 30% condition duration bonus.

Yeah you’re right, that came out wrong. I just meant it’s easier to fit on established builds instead of a whole new weapon imo.
