I’ve recently switched from a Condition based build with Rabid Gear (CondDmg+Prec+Tough) to a DD/Condition hybrid build (20/30/0/20/0) with a mix of Carrion (CondDmg+Power+Vit) and Rampager (Prec+CondDmg+Power) gear.
It seems to me, that I can survive much less punishment with my vampiric hits, although I use Well fo Corruption and Dagger Focus for fast hitting and fast Vampiric hits. My Critchance is about 45% and I was thinking of getting 30 in BM instead to get Vampiric rituals for that extra boost of Siphon, this would cost me another 5% critchance.
Could it be, that because of my severly lesser Tough, my Siphoning is “worth less” as it doesn not compensate for as much damage any more?

I would say toughness is required for all necro builds, at least that my conclusion for the class. Seems like toughness would be even more needed on a vampiric/siphon build.

Cond + power + vit did not work well for me. I changed my hybrid build to stack power toughness and prec adding a splash of condition damage 250-400 range to help my bleeds.

Try 20/0/20/30/0, 20/10/20/20/0 or 30/0/20/20/0 well/dagger builds its a nice change from conditions (kind of weak but it works very well against bad players that stand in wells.)

I am actually a Dungeon/PvE player.
I want to utilize the Cond/Power Synergies we have with our Attribute pairings.
Would you propose going 20 into SR instead of BM? I kinda already bought full exotic Carrion. I plan on saving up for Either CM Rabid or Sylvari Cultural (which is also Rabid) as a second set.
I know Hunger is currently not in effect but I could stack Vuln and decrease DS recharge (spamming Enfeebling Blood every 5 seconds) or I could increase the time I can spend in DS, effectively increasing survivability.

Considering Toughness is the ONLY stat that lifesteals scale with I’d say yes. =p
