Trahearne
If you didn’t know, Trahearne is a Necromancer.
Lets Discuss Trahearne’s necromatic abilities:
Did Trahearne just summon 6 flesh golems in the personal story? O_0
I am his second in command. Logically, I should be able to summon at least 3. T.TTrahearne wields a great sword, Caladbolg.
Apart from Trahearne wielding his greatswotd, I haven’t seen another not fight-able necromancer in personal story yet.Anyone else hate that there is not much limelight for the necro in GW2’s current lore?
Zhaitan – undead minions
Necromancer – undead minions (unaffected by Zhaitan’s corruption)
A big chance to write some stories about necromancers wasted.
Zhaitan brings back the dead to life, which is why they sometimes carry their own personalities. Since Necromancers (and all other classes) are forbidden from this practice they can only resurrect recently deceased allies or create undead minions from the corpses of the fallen.
So the big difference here is with one you are using a persons body when you raise them up from the dead. With the other you are simply creating an undead creature from the flesh and bones of that body.
Also there are abilities which allow the transferred ownership of minions, but they cut that mechanic out of GW2 because of the way they did skills. In GW1 the Verata skills could ‘steal’ or ‘take’ ownership of minions from enemies or minions that had no master (kill a player in PvP and they lose ownership of their minions, making them roam free attacking all players).
A lot of the plot hero NPCs have exceptional abilities;
-rytlock uses a pistol despite being a warrior
-trahearn can summon 6 flesh golems, use a great sword, and shoot elementalist style lightning bolts.
-zojja has a permanent golem as opposed to our temp ones
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard
He’s a massive Mary Sue. That’s kind of to be expected.
I was really pissed when he just pulled 6 flesh golem out of nowhere and my necro look incredably weak, it has always frustrated me alot when NPC’s have powers that make my characters look like amateures.
But I am just glad I am not playing a mesmer becasue I have found so many mesmers in this game that just makes playable mesmers look like nothing.
Caladbolg is an environmental weapon that Trahearne, very wisely, never lets go of.
Honestly once he gets that, his original class is completely irrelevant.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
Arg Trahearn needs to die…like seriously lol most annoying in game char…wouldve rather had a quggan leading us
on subject, yes hes supposed to be a powerful necro …on 1 story mission he summons about 6 flesh golems…but he also has guardian abilities with the greatsword (too bad for being a powerful necro hes worthless in combat)
Chuiu makes a good point – Zhaitan’s the kinda whole-sale Necromancer-creature. He goes to the supermarket, sees “Undead minions – Raise 2000, get 1000 free!” and he’s all like I’LL TAKE TEN THOUSAND.
We, on the other hand, are more like Dr. Frankenstein. Except obviously when we made our Bone Minion’s, we never got beyond “The leg bone’s connected to the…”
Yea as Kaarnak.2865 said, Trahearne isn’t a Necromancer he just re-writes the game as he see’s fit.

Ah, the exact moment my hatred for Trahearne cemented itself forever; that Flesh Golem stunt he pulled emasculated my Necromancer like nothing else.
To be fair re: Caladbolg, my necro used that at one point, too. Any sylvari doing the Priory storyline will. At least when I used it, it had its own unique skill set.
His guardian/elementalist/mesmer abilities come from Caladbolg, you get to use it in part of the Sylvari quest line and it gives you the same attacks.

I about died of laughter at the library thanks to you.
Repping Beastgate since day 1.
He never asked for this.
