Trickjumping in Guild Wars 2 (Necromancer)
That’s pretty cool actually.
So i know the spectral return resets your position, hence why no falling dmg. Youre then tricking the game, to think you actualy started where the spectral return point is, rather than your actual jump, which would normaly be a not possible shadowstep. Right?
Does this only work if youre close to wurm?
Anyway it loks pretty amazing and fun to pose on those places as a necro.

In this video, the spectral walk is mainly used to gain more distance to get closer to the wurm before blinking. On some spots you can be like 300 units away from the wurm before blinking, on others you need to be closer to it.
I think resetting your position with spectral walk doesn’t do anything for tricking the game in that way as you described. I’m not completely sure about it but from my experience, only your relative position to the wurm is important.
I’ve tried doing this before. Never worked for me. I’ll be trying again though.
ah so its just a bug if youre close enough to wurm.
Nice!
Thanks for that, never stops learning
You can also high jump with spectral walk. Jump save position, jump again and load. You basically double jump.
If necro had a leap it would be the best class for mountain goating.
I used to use teleporter gun + spec walk to jaunt around neat places in PvE.
Because the teleporter gun/spec walk had no limits, I could get to some neat out of map location (like the top of the mountain at the priory), activate spec walk, waypoint someone where, activate tele gun, spec recall and bam, people could teleport from the way point to my spot.
I used to do this in wvw early on to sneak zergs into enemy keeps, but that’s a different story…
Edit: Pic related was a hilarious two hour journey that took us outside and around half the map. This sort of thing is where necro is objectively best class. Shame they nerfed spectral waypointing though.

You have some really cool jumps there, good job!
