I just thought I would let everyone know that there are weaknesses to terrormancer and conditionmancer builds. Warriors have access to most ways to rip a necro apart.

1. Condition Removal- This is rough and you need a lot of it because Necromancers can drop a tank on you with bleeds. This is my least favorite method. Also for those of you saying we throw out blind, most of the time it is not even on the bar. I personally run Locust Signet, Corrupt Boon, and Epidemic with my elite skill being Flesh Golem for a little bit of CC to save me from some 2 to 1 fights.

2. Crowd Control- Necromancers have very little stability. If we run DS stability our damage takes a hit as conditionmancers. You will find very few with DS stability traited. That leaves us or well of power. 1 second stability. pfft.

3. Focus Damage- I know we don’t run much Lich Form anymore so we are not MASSIVE beacons of KILL ME but put a target over their head. Necromancers have a hard time peeling off extra conditions and DS is paper when it comes to a “second life bar.”

4. By far the most important- Be aware of the skills used. I saw a terrormancer down 3 people due to them not seeing the fear wall and running into it a few times. Then they ran into the fear mark followed by torment and more fear.

Warriors, you are the best equipped imo to handle necromancers. Traited for condition removal and CC warriors are formidable. I got knocked down 3 times last night and then immobilized by a thief with my condition removal on CD. Took 100 blades to the face and it was over.

I think the important bit is to realize that when your bar fills up with red icons it’s a sign that you should start playing defensively and running away. I’ve had so many people continue to try to chase me when they could have just used their gap closers to build some range, heal up, and come kill me.

Once Doom, Spectral Wall, and Fear Mark are down I’m basically just spamming auto attack and hoping nobody noticed that I’m out of CC. It’s not like I’ve got a bunch of Vigor or Stability or anything. 2 dodges and I’m a punching bag for an uncomfortably long time.

I think being focused is still the biggest defense for opponents of a terrormancer in a pvp situation. When I’m not focused down in small scale wvw I can wreck a lot of people. But if just 2 people decide they want me dead and come at me hard, there is nothing I can do about it besides stall and hope my team helps me out, and quickly.

Warriors still lose most of the times against a conditionmancer 1v1. But if the necro is caught off guard while focusing on something else, then only grenth help them lol.

yeah warriors, they drop 10~20% of my hp before they die, i’m so afraid of them.

warrs can either use their mobility and run away or die when if it’s 1v1

Depends on the Warrior and the build. The Mace/Shield and GS setup does very well at taking out Necromancers in my experience. Running -20% condi duration rune, Berserker Stance for 8s of condi immuninity, Sig of Stamina for a full condi cleanse, and Mending for -2 condi on the heal, Balanced Stance for stability….and packed full of a ridiculous amount of dazing and stuns into a lot of burst. It is a very effective Necro and Engi killer due to their lack of stability options.

While this is very true, many Warriors are well equipped to taking down Necromancers, these tips only work against glassy 30/30/10/0/0 Necromancers. Not against more long-term fighting Terrormancers. Kindia is a kitten ed good Warrior, and a personal friend of mine, and he defeats Necromancers all day, but fails against me quite often.

It all depends on a number of variables.

it really depends on pvp or wvwvw.

If its pvp, then I will tell the OP that you never really played a warrior.

If its wvwvw, then this guy is a boss

i feel its kinda sad that warriors need overpowered food buff sometimes

This! Sorry I have not responded lately. Work has me doing double shifts. It all comes down to how well you use the class. People complain too much about terror but Stability drops it off fast.

I only went into PvP a few times. I run the traditional condition build that is not focused on fears. Focus fire in sPvP is the way to go and in tournaments it is better to cap and avoid a necro in 1v1. I am not the best warrior in PvP but I can 1v1 a conditionmancer and 2v1 a terrormancer as I call targets on them and we hunt them down in 2’s. to make sure they can’t support their team. I will happily admit I am the crappiest Mesmer in the game…..

I am not a fan of terrormancers. Terror has been around since release and by turning a crap utility into a fear wall they made a terror build viable. I am not opposed to fear damage being dialed down a little but a full nerf would kill the best CC we have access to. The biggest problem is the Terror/Dhuumfire combo. On another note player skill is slowly starting to become a HUGE factor in who can defeat whom. We are not there yet though where skill is THE defining factor.

I use mending and have restorative strength traited. Restorative strength tics before the heal skill is cast so it can remove a few cover conditions like weakness and chill if fighting a necro. Like i said this is my least favorite. There is also signet of stamina if you really want to go all out condition removal.
