Underwater flesh golem
I guess Flesh Golems never learned how to swim. Luckily underwater combat is pretty uncommon and minions aren’t particularly useful so its not a big deal. It only seems right that “Thieves Guild” would work underwater with its longer CD and timed duration.
Maybe in the future they’ll give us more options, but lets be real Necros get no love.
Compared to most skills in game, the flesh golem has a rather long CD even with reduced CD trait (yes I believe 48-60 secs is long and No I don’t want to argue about it). Oh and I don’t like underwater combat one bit. I have another reason for wanting my golem to be underwater actually. So it won’t die when I place a toe in a river just so I can get that one POI or event or etc…
Its because it never got swimming animations. Both it and Flesh Wurm used to be aquatic iirc (during beta) but there were super kitten y looking because they just kinda… floated around. So instead of keeping in what was honestly a really unpolished visual they just disabled it.
So they are meant to be underwater… Ugh…. then I hope they fix those animation soon.
I can think of two easy solutions:
1) redesign the appearance of the flesh golem to that of a more humanoid structure and replace it’s animations with that of one of the humanoid races. I heard that Mass Effect did something similar in reusing animations for the Krogans in order to safe time and effort.
2) do what they did with the Moa morph skill that mesmers have. Flesh golem changes into something else when entering the water. Like an undead shark, fish, whatever… that the game already have animations for such as the risen shark animations.
I’d love to have a flesh golem that stands around doing nothing on both land and water.
Minions don’t have many issues underwater last I knew, although I can’t say I bring them often anymore. Less pebbles to get stuck on, less flowers to pick.
If I recall correctly, if you stay on the surface of the water and don’t dive under, you will keep your Flesh Golem from dying.

The Flesh Golem is an Elite Minion. It has an image to maintain! It can’t be seen all wet and with its hair disordered!

Have you guys ever seen Minion master run without a flesh golem. The flest golem is definitely the strongest minion MM Necros will have (as long as it is working properly). A good number of non-minion master also go flesh golem simply because transformation skills sucks!
Also, the swimming and no diving thing doesn’t work. I do that plenty of times and my golem drowns regardless.
They just need to give us an underwater specific minion like an undead eel or something. I can see flesh wurm being land only, I’m fine with that really.
But to only have a single underwater elite it pretty ridiculous, especially when it’s tied mainly to a condi spec .

Actually thats the case for many other professions as well and i wouldnt say that plague form is mainly for condi specs. It works in all builds as a defensive cooldown (by using plague 2 for aoe blinds and by having high toughness+high health). Though it is true that condition specs will probably get the most out of it but so is fleshgolem for mms.
But back to topic it would be nice to have an alternative to plague underwater.
I’ve seen a couple of non-mm necromancer builds where the creator uses a flesh golem simply because transformation skills sucks. And guess what? I agree with them, transformation skills do suck.
