Unholy sanctuary
Different classes different balance in this case.
Unholy Sanctuary isn’t weak on its own, it is weak because it is unsupported by a build that could take use of it (a non MM bunker, which isn’t viable atm).
I think that this trait should additionally allow us to be healed by regeneration
At the very least they could have put it in blood magic instead so you could try to invest in healing without being forced to run MM.
Condi build obviously cannot utilize this since staying in DS = no condi pressure.

Actually no, its weak on its own, in its total uptime its worse than most master adepts including bloody vampiric (seriously, over the molten duo fight, you get more hp from hitting kitten with base vampiric than US, thats with maxing out DS uptime).
TLDR: worst circumstance base masters are better than this grandmaster.
The usefulness of the regeneration boon can be considered inversely proportional to the profession’s health pool and damage mitigation/avoidance. So regeneration is most useful on characters with low hp pools and with many damage mitigation/avoidance/denial abilities.
Necros lie in the worst possible combination for regeneration, very large HP and very small damage mitigation.
I agree, the traits are all wrong and in the wrong tier. BUT stealth doesn’t last so long, unless they get all the stealth traits. Most stealth traits will be shadow refuge, cloak and dagger and maybe some trait stealth skills all together maybe 6-10 seconds stealth (?… I’m not entirely sure cause I only have a lvl 19 thief but I guess thi is pretty accurate). So that’s about 2000-3200 healing in stealth. Now necro. With vital persistence and 30 in SR u can get a good 25-40 sec in DS when not doing anything. (So about 3000-4500 healing) and when in a group fight with lots of kills and spectral skill you could manage to double that. I do agree with u however some more regen would be nice but it’s hard to compare two different things.
That trait would be better if they removed the “regen” effect and just plain allow us to receive healing from others sources, so that our other traits are actually useful while in it.
Parasitic contagion and Vampiric traits are all negated once in DS, and for me it’s a no go. Bring us synergy!

ive recently come to the conclusion that, if you would combine:
- spite condi heal GM
- death DS mini regen GM
- blood draw 1x condi GM
i still dont know if i would take it for 30pts

Actually just the spite gm would make it worth it since it is actually strong when you can use it, problem is all of them are clunky and their uptime/reliability is nothing compared to other traits.
When exactly is the stupid spite gm worth it. WvW massive conditions cleanses. Pvp it’s useless in small scale fights. Pve yah OMG so useful let’s play conditions in pve…. It was a nice idea but it’s not really good in practice

Not saying this trait is terrible in general. Its just something that wont matter much in the current game. You cant do a proper build around this trait, the powerlevel seems off as well. If you want to use it for good effect you need a build that has high lifeforce and high healing power, those 2 cancel each other out in the current situation. Besides you would need 3 traitlines to make this work, none of which boost your dps.
I would actually love if this gets turned into DM → Master – Minor.

Except that both in high level fractals and Teq/Wurm a carrion scav build is very strong (bloaters, grub pops so ERT and north shipwreck defense/husks respectively).
