Heyo guys, just finished my latest reaper video.

In the vid are just some cool power/condi necro clips that I’ve gathered over the last week. *spoiler – 14k gravediggers included

I love how flexible the reaper is, both power and condi builds perform outstandingly well, and now that we have stability we don’t have to be punching bags anymore!

Overall I’m quite pleased with how the reaper turned out to be. It isn’t Dragon Hunter overpowered, or Berserker underpowered, but right in the middle. I can see it being used throughout all game modes

Fun stuff! Do you also have screencaps of the score screens after your matches? I’m definitely curious to see what builds and playstyles are putting up for metrics.

Condi is amazing, ive only been playing 6 months ish, necro main, and i chose it due to the whole condition master theme, now its actually a reality its amazing. Agreed on the flexibility comment, play either a tough, death reincarnate bruiser melee style, or a stay back and rot your target to death through conditions. ANet have done an amazing job with necro, setting the bar for other professions to be equally as competent and diverse.

Personally I’d favour Burn duration or flat condi duration over bleed duration since Dhuumfire is a huge damage part of the build.

There is no point focusing on burn condition, as a necro we simply dont stack it enough to be viable, its just a bonus at best. bleeding, chill and torment are our major tools, with talents designed to compliment them i think its safe to say that although they dont have the potency of burn, they are quite powerful when combined with each other.

Burn on Dhuumfire is very strong, since you apply a strong Burn, Bleeds on Crits, Poison, Fear and Chill in RS you will want to spend a lot of time there. Hence the Burn duration. General condi duration is also still preferable if you are going to apply so many conditions.

my chill can do 700-990 dps
poison on point is amazing with burning combine with nice 1-2k direct dmg
you can swap to dagger for more melee dmg

It CAN be big, but usually isn’t. You will at least always do bleed/chill dmg

Indeed, I finally don’t feel like a burden to my team

No sorry, but I do know that I once got 1 million condi damage in a match xD
Average for power reaper is around 400/500k power dmg.
Average for condi reaper is around 300/400 condi dmg with an extra 100k power dmg!

Those big numbers from power Reaper are a beautiful sight. I’m a power Necro at heart, but condi isn’t in such a bad spot as a couple weeks ago. I’ve had some really really good games lately in pvp with condi Reaper. I prob won’t switch to condi for WvW, but I might play it more in pvp. Keep those vids coming Hollts! Curious to see if/when you put out a Chrono vid some day.

Mhh chrono has gotten my attention, Ill be sure to try it someday.

Noticed you used dagger/warhorn for your power spec (surprise, surprise…), but there’s also clips of you critting with Gravedigger. Did you equip a GS just to get vids of the big crits? Or is there a viable pvp spec with GS?

Thank you so much for the video and the builds. I myself am a returning player and PvP in GW2 wasn’t my forte. I was struggling to find a build setup for PvP that fit what I liked about the new Reaper specialization. I prefer condi damage over power but I felt like if I didn’t have a GS I’d be not playing to the potential. With your condition build I felt an immediate shift in performance. It just felt natural and I finally had the teeth I felt I was missing. In hotjoin spvp matches (what I’m doing atm) I can finally feel pride in my play thanks to your inspiration!

But you can never rest on your laurels in a competitive environment so I have a few specific things I’m evaluating and the first is Corrosive Poison Cloud. This is used primarily because of the projectile nullification right? I’ve not really picked up the situations this is best used in vs the specific classes so does anyone have any tips for best use? Are there any other skills with more utility for this build and that slot?

Why is Chilled to the Bone seemingly the default Elite now?
