[Video] The New Power Necromancer
How do you stack enough bleeds to proc blood bond? I tried something like yours but ended up using the +speed trait because i couldnt get blood bond going.
too much pro-ness you almost make me think necros need to be nerfed!!!
I see almost all your fights are outnumbered or duo fights.
which I guess would make wells a lot more effective.
What are your thoughts on solo roaming though? will your triple well build still be useful?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
for blood bond you just need your staff 2 mark to hit them, along with the dodgeroll mark. or just staff 2 and dark path, works aswell.
I use now 2 Daggers and “Quickening Thirst”. Not only because of the permanent 25% Speed but also because of the 33% Recharge. I actually tested everything: Dagger / Warhorn, Dagger / Focus, Dagger / Dagger and everything also with a axe in the Main. Dagger / Dagger is imho the best for PvP. For WvW i prefer Axe / Warhorn.

Been trying something like that aswell, and Works pretty well.
Wanted to know what you think about Unholy Martyr and if you have been playing around with that instead of well trait?
Just seems like alot of sustain in small team fight.
Also i really want to try Curses instead of Soul Reaping or Blood Magic, you Guys tried any of that yet? Maybe a power signet build for epic condie transfer/boon hate?
too much pro-ness you almost make me think necros need to be nerfed!!!

I’ve tried triple wells, and it completely wrecks kids unless they’re even remotely smart. It’s high risk, high reward. I prefer to run one damage well, one utility well, and a signet, along with as much condi transfer in my traits as possible.
At the end of the day, 3 wells is overkill for roaming and you won’t be able to cheese smarter players.

i think you made a very good point. a build without a way to mitigate power and condi burst is a dead build.
I am a supporter of a balanced build. For that reason I really like Gladomer’s Warrior build. He has very good condi and power mitigation although he sacrificed some damage.
sounds like yours is also a balanced build. power-focused with good condi mitigation.

i play yor build in spvp and its very good but i switch warhorn to dagger and use dagger trait for speed/cd i found its very usefull vs burning ele and guard
This build looks OP. Too much sustain, please nerf.
In all seriousness though, power necro isn’t too shabby now with the huge sustain blood magic gives now. Nice build but it will be farmed by mesmers
Retired.

I watched the video and i noticed that you mainly use the staff and rarely the dagger except on downed people, you use warhorn more than dagger, why? If possible can you show the combat log in the next video?
90% of time when i must finish enemy i use only dagger aa for LF or 2 in fight for nice +3k heal
lol, this was literally my first experience running this build:

After that, it went much more smooth and I managed to kill a good amount of people very quickly, which was nice!
entertaining vid, thx
if only ppl woudnt stand into those wells like scrubs
Running something similar, only with a Marauder amulet and Well of Blood. I like Marauder much more than Berserker, especially on Necro since it gives a little more survivability. I might try the D/D setup some have mentioned, as it couldn’t hurt to have another transfer when Staff4 and Well of Power are on CD. Warhorn is just so hard to give up though.

:D this is why I dont play www……pple without brain……what if they wont stay in those wells? You get nothing you waste your wells/dmg/life gain and you are feeeeked up
I don´t think that this has something to do with WvW. Wells are very strong in some situations and in some not, the thread owner made good use of that. Nothing new to be honest, this has been the case pre patch also.
I think we were improved somewhat and I like what i see, albeit the CC nerf absolutely sucks donkey kitten, as does the plague nerf. That said, we still are no where near the engie, guard, mesmer, ele, thief, and warrior dominant meta.
Our syphons are still weak, and our defense vs the spike meta is still lacking. If they could just up our healing in shroud a bit more, and give us a slight boost in defense I think we would be golden

It’s a quirky trait yes, (I often forget) but what I do to proc this is Dark Path > Dodge and then cleave with the dagger to get the procs/heal. But staff 2 + dodge or dark path works just as well.

Haha don’t nerf necro’s anymore Wells are indeed strong in Multiple Vs. Multiple fights… will share my thoughts later on how to use them effectively.

All weapons work, I just <3 the warhorn because of the CC and swarm to proc more vampiric stuff muhahaha

Well that would mean going into death magic instead of blood which gives up a LOT of sustain/healing. IMO vampiric/bloodmagic in general is better than sanctuary but I haven’t tried it yet :/ The support/sustain from bloodmagic is too good to pass up on atm imo.
And power necro could be very nice yea, but haven’t tried it… YET!

Uhm no plz don’t nerf ;_;
ALSO message me in-game asap.

Did I really?! I thought I used dagger way more… well its just the cleave that it gives that makes it veryyy nice

Glad it’s working out for you!

Ah yea, I just like zerk becuase imo you have enough hp on necro

THIS GUYS GETS IT. Thx mordran

Yea they could be buffed somewhat, a thief will quickly drown your hp and you wouldn’t have a chance to regain it after :/
THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO USE WELLS 101 GUIDE BY HOLLTS
So ppl here are a little misinformed imo…. wells are great but can be useless. Of course dropping them at your feet will not change anything in a fight. So how DO you land your wells?! Here’s how:
1) USE CC – Immob, fear, chill, knockdown etc .
No one is gonna stay in your wells voluntarily, so you have to make them. Chain CC’s to keep ’em where ya want, what I do is wait until they have blown some cleanses and use Tainted Shackles > Dagger 3 > WoSuffering > Dagger AA.
Simple and effective, how I like it.
2) REZZING/STOMPING – If people are not moving…
Anyway who is rezzing or stomping will not move for ~3 secs and that is the perfect time to drop some wells. In the beginning of this video you can see them all rezzing the necro… dropped WoCorruption and Suffering and we got a pentakill
3) Don’t just blow ‘em! – Wells are not as good in 1v1’s
In 1v1’s use them VERY carefully because one dodge and they are out. Use CC and drop wells if you know you can get 2+ ticks in. That is enough IMO.
4) Suprise! – Use them unexpectedly
Is someone chasing you? Drop a well behinf you, turn back, spam dat dagger AA and take half of his HP.
There is more!
The pre patch meta necro build was with double wells, one extra (Well of Power, which is not about hitting people) shouldn’t make it any different. So you have 2 wells you have to actually hit… and you have enough CC for that.
28 sec CD? Aw yea!
WoSuffering is quite spamable with 28 sec CD, use it often to get some breathing room or proc some necro stuff
Hope this helped
been using something like that since patch
except i’m using D/D, full zerker, scholar runes, and plague signet,
i change main weapon with axe while running with zerg, and use that axe trait…
my skills are pretty average tho, not as good as the one in the video, but yes, well’s are good if you do it right, of course no one would just stand there and enjoy the pulse..
i hate getting condition, and i hate my condition cleaner also give me condition,…
“condi’s frighten me, it’s time my enemy share my dread” -batman-
i’m pretty sure bruce wayne said that…
still workin on my old condi pvp build, and trying to use it on wvw…

Loved the video… I think I watched that thief denial about 10x in a row; truly epic. It also makes me super nervous in your videos having your health so low most of the time….
I had a question about your Well of Power usage: I know there is a slight life siphon usage there, but are you using it specifically for the stability? I saw you get rooted when you were almost to SMC, then you dropped WoP and ran into the portal…
You keep the condi conversion even if you leave well

Don’t you have to be standing in the well to get the conversion?
Ok, I can’t stop watching this video. There is so much awesomeness going on, it’s hard to understand it all.
Some things I saw:
- Leading with Staff 2 for the chill
- Dropping Staff 2, then sitting there waiting on the thief to come tag you (lmao when he ragequit)
- Dropping wells on people ressing
- Dropping wells on the downed
- Being chased, dropping a well, then turning around and Dagger 3/1 WH 5 while they are standing in the well
- Fearing people directly back into the well you just dropped on them
- Using the walls/corners for dropping marks/wells and watching them run right in (It’s a trap!)
- Dagger 2 on a thief before he invis, and siphoning while he is invis. (meanwhile pointing to his location at the same time, lol)
- and the epic fear SR, then interrupt the heal, then TP to him, root him, and well/stomp… dang man, thats skill.
Obviously you have played spvp quite a bit to understand the mechanics of it all, but to know what the other person is going to do BEFORE THEY DO and to already have the counter ready to go is absolutely amazing.

nice guide but eventhough you immobilize someone in wells some classes have nice escape mechanics blink/shadowstep/bow skill 5 for thief/staff number 2 for mesmer/ lightening flash for ele/war can break immobilize on any moving skill/ guard can cleanse easily with f2 etc
They won’t always have a escape, timing is key

Been trying this out with d/d and I’ve been liking it so far.
I’ve been trying out knight’s gear. Not as much damage, but it is more durable. Also been using different sigils and runes, like sigil of blood and runes of vampirism. Some decent tweaking one can do there.
I’ve also been trying it with well of blood instead of CC (that is, full wells). I imagine CC will be better in general, although well of blood can possibly be better in a coordinated team. The offhand dagger helps make up for the condi clear loss, although you have to make sure to hit with the dagger.
It could potentially be quite interesting with something like ritual of life, but giving up quickening thirst is a tough call. Haven’t tried testing that out yet, but imagine it wouldn’t work too well unless the team was highly coordinated.

Wow thanks man! Looks like my 600 hours on necro (with 500 in PvP) payed off
Necromancer is hard, but you need to be creative and anticipate to make it easier
Just want to remind you tho…. I still die a lot xD But this is what it looks like when things go right!
Don’t you have to be standing in the well to get the conversion?
You get a 1 sec stabilty to cover the cast time, and if you drop the well directly on you, you get the well of power effect (convert condi every sec) for 5 seconds. If you DON’T drop the well on yourself, you get the stab and stunbreak but not the WoP effect. You need to walk into the well, and then you get the effect for the remaining duration. This same thing counts for allies, but they will never stunbreak or get stability from the skill
