Violent Tendency [vT]
Ferguson’s Crossing Roamer
Hello again! I have another viper reaper roaming video (albeit a bit of a shorter one). With the patch coming up I wanted to get back to necro and crush some new wvw player spirits. Builds are in the description of the video.
Any comments/questions are welcome.
Nice. Give us some more sooner
Great skills/shroud rotations! But what I love most was your positioning in the fights.
No one focused you = bad opponents, which was also obvious as most of them were low ranks.
Not one single time a thief pressured you. He would two-shot you.
No one dodged your heavily telegraved GS skills.
The one time you were focused by 3 enemies your team babysitted you immediately but you still ended up in downstate.
I saw some solid gameplay, but also no competent opponents.

But thats what makes good videos a better player defating lower skills ones because 2 of the same skill level against 1 will always win or even if the 1 is above them this game does not allow reall skill to be proven.

You have good points.
I would say though that most players don’t seem to know Necros should often be the top priority to focus on in a group fight, which would make skills like wurm/spectral walk/warhorn almost a must for a necro in roaming group fights (unless you have good teammates who can sustain you).
That said, I would think OP’s positioning in the fights made him a lot less of an obvious target, especially to enemies that don’t prioritize Necro or anyone at all.
Oh and to add, I love how OP was using different builds in the video. Just love that we have so many viable combinations now.

Oh and regarding your point on the GS 5 skill, one way of increasing its chances of connecting is to do it later in the fights when dodges are expended or when your opponent is channeling a skill. Which I felt OP did pretty well in his video especially shown against the solo Mesmer fight.
Thanks everyone for the comments. I do appreciate them.
Snip.
I think that the biggest mistake pug groups make in fights is not knowing what targets are high priority targets and which can be trained down easily. I think we can all agree that this is probably one of the biggest factors that makes roaming videos have some if those outnumbered clips.
In larger fights if a thief pressures me it can be tough, I think every necro build will struggle against good thieves. The thief I usually play with and I have a solid system for identifying threats like that and taking them out of the fight. 1v1 the outcomes of the fight depends on the thief I’m fighting. Even against very good thieves if I play near perfect I can pull out a win, but it’s an uphill battle. Again I feel that goes for every necro build out there currently.
People seem to not know the telegraphs on GS skills, but as angel mentioned counting dodges and seizing opportunities to hit the pull and other abilities makes a big difference.
Against a guild group that focuses me from the get go 3(+2 two other roamers) v X, Im Not too concerned with me eventually going down. By that point in the fight we’d already killed off/downed 3 of the opponents and had momentum. Now ideally I would never go down in fights, but doesn’t the fact that I do speak to the opponents being somewhat competent? Otherwise they’d have focused the thief or the support guard, but instead they tunnel visioned on me the whole fight.
