I am about to punch the keyboard.

Trying to down the vale guardian without ccs, as a condi necro, and it seems i am still applying chill even though i am autoattacking and changed all my traits to avoid applying chills.

I am running:

curses 2 1 3
death 3 1 1
blood 2 3 1

during the cc phase, i was only using scepter aa and enfeebling blood.

Still, a chill would appear from time to time, apparently credited to me (i read another member of the party’s name on it, but they kept blaming the necro).

Is there anything i am missing? My only guess is i can be transferring chills without noticing (the curses auto and the minions) , but the boss doesn’t apply chills, does he?

BTW, it felt a lot better doing the fight as a warrior, and watching them bully another necro instead.

Arenanet: encouraging necro hate for three years, and counting….

1. Why attempt without CC’s? Vale Guardian doesn’t get disturbed by CC outside of a specific couple points where you want to break it.

2. Do you have a Sigil of Ice or Hydromancy? What are your runes (grenth or ice)? Did you use Dark Path at all? If the answers to all of the above are “no”, then it wasn’t you.

They’re being idiots. Someone else is applying a chill, obviously. It’s not like a chill breaks the bar that fast, anyway.

ANet is encouraging nothing. Place the blame where it should be when players hate on Necros for no reason: the players who hate on Necros for no reason.

Also, let us know which sigils/runes you were running. If you prove that you aren’t applying chill, anyone in your group who blames you is a complete idiot and needs to be called out for idiocy.

Someone is prolly using some type of chill sigil and forgot

I was using geomancy/bursting

And as for the runes, some stupid combination to increase bleed duration that doesnt apply chill.

It’s not like chill breaks the bar fast, but it does so slowly. If you dont break the bar the boss keeps spamming the aoe which can be easily avoided, while he remains stationary taking damage. This makes the fight a lot easier, unless somebody slowly chips at the break bar and the boss becomes mobile again.

Using a cheap strat and blaming Anet cause you can’t even execute it properly. NICE !

Well, it obviously came from one of your teammate. Like from :
- a revenant who ‘s condi spec
- a ranger (pet or axe)
- an elementalist since ele healer tend to use flash freeze which have a short CD to heal their allies.
- an engineer that is overzealous in it’s nade rotation…
etc.

…people really use this tactic? lol

in all seriousness though, these people try to ez mode the raid then will later cry about the lack of “challenging group content” :p

Exploiters? Exploiters abuse bugs in game,we just found another way to deal with the boss. When we found out people hitting the boss on melee range were not taking damage, we decided it was stupid to force te boss out of that very favorable phase.

Ive loaded the build on gw2skills and there is indeed no access to chills in my build, so unless i was being chilled by something else, there is no way i was the one chilliing the boss. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Not that im trying to use this tactic, but i have noticed that I apply chill to targets that i shouldnt be in raids. My current belief is that someone is applying aoe chill, and im getting chilling nova procs off the seekers, but I’m not sure.

Yeah, but chilling nova requires reaper, which i dont use.

Unless you used Death Shroud 2, I have no idea where you would of been chilling from. The only thing I could think of is maybe you converted a boon into chill.. but really, by the sounds of it, you weren’t chilling anything and people were just blaming you because..

Well, it was (badly) patched so no trouble with unwanted ccs now. At least now i dont have to worry about people who dont know their class blaming me for their own mistakes.
