Way to enable BGM in DS?
People actually listen to GW2 music?
Mhh, well if you really don’t want to listen to your own music you can just download the music from a YouTube video (just search GW2 music) and play it in your media player. I don’t know how you can enable it in DS >.>
(but seriously, listening to your own playlists is better)
To be fair, the GW2 music is really good. It doesn’t compare to playing Necro with heavy metal in the background though.
I think you may somewhat disable this “noise” you got in DS by toying with the ambiant sound in the sound panel.
It’s been ages that I’ve done my own settings but I got pretty much no “noise” in DS, so that must be it.

Try house or DnB, way better than death metal
That’s a matter of taste my friend ;-)
I usually do not get pumped with adrenaline when playing my Necro…
I just sit back, sip a martini and let the avalanche of CC’s happen after (trying) to get out of a nasty situation… But hey, That’s life
What you can do is turn off your in game music, put on Spotify, search for “Guild Wars” and endlessly repeat those themes to get your dose of Jeremy Soule

Coming from another era of console and DOS-gaming I usually listen to the in game music. I also listen a lot of Game OST on youtube like Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy etc.
I never understood (specifically PC-)Gamers who make videos with completely out of place music, usually stuff that 15year old emo-punk-anime-freaks are listening to or spastic techno crap. But it seems 15-20 year olds are the only one who have enough time to make speed runs.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The main reason speedruns and various game videos have alternative music is because we dont record sound. If we recorded sound you would get teamspeak commentary. The music chosen for videos is just personal preference and theres no need to disrespect peoples tastes.
Also many people dont play with ingame music and have sound effects very low. There came a point where i got bored of the ingame BGM so ive almost completely muted my game. Also makes it easier to follow conversations in teamspeak if there isnt blazing sound effects drowning everything out.

People always develop new and different music tastes, grandpa. Not all of us are war veterans listening to 50s pop.
Well, this got off topic. So I can take away from this then that I can not enable my GW2 BGM during DS mode?
That’s a pity, luckily I have the sound track on my computer, so woo
Basically yeah. You’d have to play the soundtrack on your own and disable it in game.

xD I just imagined the background music suddenly becoming heavy metal everytime you enter shroud and go back to calm peaceful sounds after you exit it

I wish I could make that happen.
this bothers me, too. i use the in-game custom soundtrack in guild wars 2, so upon entering battle, other games’ OST will play, and leaving will turn it off, because i personally don’t like having a constant stream of battle music, or, as it has been said, heavy metal music, where the hype of the battle ends, but the song continues, so i dislike using a media player for it
and almost nothing is more frustrating than listening to Necrofantasia from Touhou, reaching an intense moment of the boss’s loud song, to simply fade into death shroud’s….quiet bed time noises while breaking out of a stun in wvw zergs
(of course it’s also bothersome when the music doesn’t play at all….but that’s a separate problem)
