Post a topic like this everyday until Arenanet gets the message. Make sure it is clear as crystal.

We do not want reanimator at all. We never wanted it in the first place. The fact that you still keep it in is an insult to the players. Decreasing the cool down will not help us want it gone anymore than we do now. Even if you improve the A.I. for minions, it will still be the worst forced trait in the game. Get rid of it for good and make up a new death-5 trait.

Agreed, its only useful for mms like the 15 point minor. Immo both should change such that you can, as bunker necro, skill in deathmagic without gimping urself.

To be frank as a PvP necro MM, I’d rather have something entirely different. I hate “on kill” traits with a passion, especially for PvP.

I don’t like either of the minors though. Even protection of the horde is like 60 toughness on average throughout a longish fight. :P

It won’t happen. Wherever it is in development, its stuck there. I’ve been directly told by at least one mod (multiple times) that he hated Reanimator, that he knew we hated reanimator, and that is was entirely within their plans to change it.

But because they are brand new traits, they are probably trying to take time to actually get it right, plus the bosses are probably saying “well if necros get trait fixes so does everyone else”.

Besides nova I think their best use are wvw aoe damage soak….and i kind of think this is what anet intends it to be. I believe aoe is 5 targets max? These little buggers would help a ton with negating that damage if it works like that.

I still think it should be tied into tainted shackles 1 jagged per tether

TBH, I really like this trait, sure it doesn’t do anything at all, but I like to see it as a necro mascot if you will and I find it kinda cute. So if they could just make a passive one (like a collectable) that’d be awesome

I like the change they did to the Reanimator CD. I was in hotjoins earlier and I could have sworn I had 3-5 of the little things following me around.

That is of course until they died, the poor things…

But that was okay too because I traited for the poison field on minion deaths!

I literally died because of the DS 1s delay on exit three times in three games. Fights that I could have won otherwise, where I had my heal up but could not do anything about it with the effectively 2s cast time.

tbh reanimator would be epic with a 5 second cooldown or no minion health degen (30 minion army… someone just made a remake of Resident Evil GW2 style run for your life!)
Pets dont deal this much damage and to be honest could use some love. Id easily see a 5 second or endless reanimator as a 25 trait for death magic while theyd put that stupid stat buff at the start of the tree.

I have like 3-4 of the little buggers around all the time, they proc death nova and leech life (if I go camp master) plus they cause bleeding… HOW is this a dumb trait for 5 ponts. I really did not expect the community to hate this skill.

It “was” useless but with more hp for minions and a shorter cd this trait is awesome!

They rage against the old version of the skill not the new one. sadly they xfering this to the 30 point death nova trait XD but oh well im a true MM so i dont care ill just have it for free + another trait i dont even know about what i wish is if they made a trait that reduced all minion creation cooldown by 50% ahahahaha

I like Reanimator. It’s quite fun to use in open world PvE.

If the devs are going to move it though, I request that it doesn’t go to Death Nova! That limits builds if you want to use Reanimator. If anything, it should go to Minion Master or Flesh of the Master.

Dev seems to be considering it but nothing is solid yet maybe theyl put it elsewhere but if they reduce the CD to 10 or 5 getting death nova and this is sure gunna be worth it. (having endless supply of rising pets easily look like a grandmaster trait to me wich should be availlable only to the real dedicated MM and not to hybrid build but they better make it be worthwhile)

I think they could really shake things up with a few changes to the whole tree line.

Re animator – Keep its location, reduce the cool down to 5-10seconds.
Protection of the Horde – Increase Toughness increase to +50 per minion
Shrouded Removal – Increase conditions removed to 3-4

Reanimator and PoTH buffs could be really helpful. Maybe change it so that the minions are summoned on a say 25% Crit chance or something so that they have more of a use in 1 Vs 1 fights

Agree with OP. I do not like having these minions forced on me if I put any points into the trait line. I trait that line for the Staff traits, only. All the forced minion traits need to go.

Death tree is… the death tree the same way inspiration is full of phantasm bonus for mesmer so is the death tree filled with stuff that reinforce pets… theres no escaping it when it comes to death magic. if anything wells related or staff related trait should be moved to spite or blood

Death Magic needs to be converted into a proper defensive tree. Those minor traits are not good design, regardless of if one is marginally useful (I wouldn’t notice if they change PotH to have negative toughness values).

i’d wager most people go into the line for staff/well skill traits and the toughness, ain’t no one in PvP or W3 got time for reanimator. As mentioned above move wells/staff stuff to another line or give us something worth having in the minor traits.

I would like Re-animator. With its cool down reduction its not to bad. I think with a few buffs to it as well as a few other traits. It could make for some nice chances for new builds.

Thinking a few changes to the condition on entering Deathshroud could be buffed along with buff to the toughness with minions could be really cool.
