I really hope PoI steps up its game this week, I was really hoping we would get a Ready Up preview with how awful the PoI one was in comparison. W/e though, we’ll finally know if we’re getting shouts or spirits or something else, and if it really is Marjory’s GS AA animation so I know how many people I have to say “I told you so” to.

You can see it if you watch the video, to the left of the gate. He does a mesmer greatsword animation n then three slashes.
I did notice at 1:50-1:53 you can see what looks like a life blast traited for dhuumfire being fired off, then a green circular aoe with the same projectile circling it. Possibly a new skill we get as a utility or new Deathshroud skill that Dhuumfire affects?

That’s a blood fiend shooting a giant green fireball that causes an aoe with rain fire… That… that has to be part of the map, and not for player use. Watch again, up on the ledge, there is a blood fiend that shoots a fireball down into that spot that causes the ring it seems. o.O something fishy about it though.
Oh kitten , your right and i didnt even notice that there is two of those buggers doing that as well. Kinda thought the second one that was shot off front he left was a player but noticed it was also a blood fiend. Guess my prediction goes out the window.
I did look to see at what Zetsumei mentioned, and i def see the generic mesmer auto animation(probably a 2-5 skill) then into a slashing combo with necro colored effects(auto?).

That said. I hope Blood fiend gets something neat, and that it’s not just a map creature. :P
Edit: Because of placement, it’s not likely. I think they’re just map creatures. Heart broken.
Blood fiend could certainly use something as it dies too easily for the heal and damage it gives. I know it was buffed last year but it is still inferior. MM has trouble with condition removal without a certain trait.
Well good news is that certain trait will now be taken in every single minion build ever.
The first fix to Blood Fiend would be to make it scale with your healing power instead of its own. At least that way it would measure up a bit better as an over time heal. Would also be nice if it didn’t require hitting the target to heal, since comparable healing over time effects don’t require anything like that.
If it kept the current healing power ratio when changed from the Fiend’s healing power to yours, they can keep Blood Fiend’s heal tied to it landing an attack. 66% of your healing power every 3 seconds is pretty strong.

That’s why I figured they should divide it into 2 parts. (It’s healing is already a bit sub-par and risky) but Currently it heals about (base) 926 every 3 seconds. 308. That’s pretty low and gets negated by fleeing enemies, stealth, is lower than Healing Sig, doesn’t have the condi removal and can be killed.
I suggest; It grants 200 healing per second to the master baseline, pretty small, not too harsh. And 500 health per hit every 3 seconds. (200 + 166) = 366 hps in PERFECT conditions, which is about the same as healing signet but with far more counter and less practical up-time. I think this is the change that it needs to be more viable.

play the video on youtube at slow speed and look at where the person in that thread took screen shot from. its a cloth armor class using greatsword as a melee weapon instead of caster weapon like Mesmer. no current cloth class can do that.
