Well damage questions for wvwvw
1. Yes, both will do damage. However, because fields don’t stack, I would suggest rotating them, so that your allies get the fields for 10s, not just 5.
2. Not necessarily. In small fights, darkness will be stronger because of how strong missing a bunch of attacks can be. However, the larger the fight gets, the more likely people will have lots of boons, which means corruption is better.
I usually target enemy – ’spec grasp, dagger 3, well suffering+well corruption, dagger 1
But if wells do not stack, is it pointless for me to put down both wells together?
That combo if very common in power/well necros Budchgon. Yes both wells do stack of course, but the problem is getting people to stay in the full duration. I wouldn’t rely on Wells too much to be your primary killing skills, they are much more effective in large battles where people are too caught up in the fighting to look at the ground circles
Wells stack effects and damage, the only thing that doesn’t truly stack is their field effect (light for WoB, darkness for all the others), and then obviously things like more than one well of darkness is wasted because of how blind works.
Cycling wells is a good thing in a more supporting build where you are using ground targetted wells to deal damage/provide fields for allies. If you are looking to nuke someone with a pull+wells+dagger, then just spam all of them down, whatever gets the kill.
Each Well is a separate AOE and does its own independent damage, so a target will suffer the damage from both Well of Suffering and Well of Corruption together, if he/she stays in the AOE.
Well of Darkness is a great defensive tool, especially if you’re fighting a Thief or Hammer Warrior.
Personally, I run with Well of Corruption and Well of Darkness as Blind and Boon removal are higher priority for me, regardless of my personal damage. Furthermore, I have +90% Chill duration and Chilling Darkness, causing my Well of Darkness to be a severe hindrance for enemies caught in it.
