What if there was a trait or just a passive function that allowed us to absorb a % of damage into life force. And what if instead of being able to heal while in deaths shroud, a % of healing became life force while in shroud.

Edit: one more thing. what if flesh worm worked like a blink and left the worm in the last spot we were at time of cast. “blink to target location leaving a flesh worm behind” as it stand, i think flesh worm is kinda backwards. you want me to summon it, run the risk of it dying, and then not having a stun break? thoughts?

Though I sympathize with the need to come to some kind of resolution of what to do with DS, I would have to disagree with this suggestion. There are situations – most notably in WvWvW – where the necro could intentionally throw themselves into the middle of a mob, enter Deathshroud, and never leave it because of the crazy life force generation we’d gain if damage became life force. Likewise if healing regenerated life force.

On the flipside, you might be able to make the argument that we could gain life force (say 1%) for each unique pulse of damage we receive when not in Deathshroud. Once we enter Deathshroud, though, we would no longer gain this passive benefit. It could still potentially lead to crazy life force generation. Since it wouldn’t function while in Deathshroud, though, it wouldn’t lead to the OP situation of perma-DS/becoming unkillable.

along with it only working while out of shroud, what if it was a “% chance to”, like the passives on runes. maybe with a cool down. and maybe like 3% of healing became life force. to control this it could only work from siphon health traits, and only work while in shroud. with maybe like a 2 sec. the way LF degenerates and with a cool down, it will give some nice sustain but not make it perma shroud.
