Can anyone please give me some advice on what a necro should be doing on the new map?

Class mechanincs which are bad for us:
1.) not mobile (were bad roamers + roaming isnt worth it on Spirit watch)
2.) steady but slow killers ( we kill to slow and sooner or later an enemy teammate arrives, cz they are all zerging from home-orb (takes 5-10sec for whole route))

3.) *(this one keeps my hopes up) No reliable hard CC. Fear is kinda counter productive, hard to fear off a bridge. Knocdowns/backs are superior cz they are mostly longer/easier to land/actualy immobilize u for 1-2 sec.
We have A LOT of cripple/chill. too bad eles/guards clean them off.

So what can i do effectively?

Extra:
All i see are guard/ele (bunker runners) + other bunkers on home.
No comment on RTL.

If you use a Terror build and get your fears over 1.5 seconds, it’s pretty easy to fear people off bridges. I usually switch out one of my utilities for Spectral Grasp, and always carry Corrupt Boon. I think necros have good potential as runner-stoppers.

Guardians and Eles are really easy to kill for necros. Corrupt boon for condition builds, or the minion boon corrupt for minion builds completely wreck their boons, which are the only reason guardians and eles can bunker well.

I’ve mainly stuck with point defender, though in matches where my team doesn’t have an ele I’ve carried the orb and did rather well, wearing Soldier’s and helped by staff and dagger/focus and wells. Maybe I’ll try runner-stopper…I just don’t like Spectral Grasp because it’s finicky, though now that I think about it I suppose the fact that the orb carrier is slowed by the orb might help Spectral Grasp hit more often.

If you are rotating between fears, chillblains, dark path, and grasping dead there is no way a single guard/ele is going to keep themselves cripple free. The idea isn’t to cripple them though. The idea is to kill them. Spirit Watch is full of high ground and choke-holds. If you aren’t flouring as a necro there, it’s time to rethink your choice of profession.

As far as runners go, we’re still one of the better ones, since we have a speed signet (no Swiftness for carriers makes that count a lot more) and the lack of teleports doesn’t matter (since teleporting or stealthing drops the orb). Between that and our large variety of methods to remove snares, we should do fairly well in that role. Less bursty movement than a Ranger with Swoop or an Ele with Ride the Lightning, but more resistant to enemy attempts to stop us.
