Let’s consider the standard powermancer utilities. Double well, spectral armor.

What would you sub out Well of Suffering for if you could?

I’ve been using spectral grasp a lot but its really annoying when it misses because of how slow the darn thing moves.

Spectral grasp -> dagger auto attack then wait for dodge then pop death shroud from the 20% life force you just gained and start your death shroud rotation.

Well of darkness could be a nice defensive mechanic but I feel like the cool down is way too long.

My question is: what would you use?

Corrupt Boon, Well of Power or Flesh Worm.
Well of Darkness is actually a good pick too despite the cooldown. In addition to the general defense it can give you a safe stomp.

Currently I am using Well of Darkness + Chilling Darkness on my build. It has saved my necro butt over and over again. Since we dont really have good defense, some blinds really come in handy, especially when you have a Warrior swinging a kitten hammer in your face. Yes the cooldown sucks but I wouldn’t change it for my build. For my other utilities I have Spectral Armor, and Signet of Spite. I used to run with Well of Suffering but since I already get vulnerability from my axe, I switched to Signet. Not only do you get a power boost, but when you activate it you get more blind and vulnerability at 1200 range. Spectral grasp is ok but it is sooo slooow. Usually didnt work for me.

In PvP I run full zerk DPS Necro with Consume Conditions, Well Of Suffering, Corrupt Boon, Spectral Walk and Lich Form.

CB is highly situational but it can easily change the flow of a fight. Not using it as soon as you see someone pop a bunch of boons is a good start.

With Deathly Perception the +50% critical chance also applies to Well Of Suffering when you enter Death Shroud. If you manage to land a Dark Pact on someone → Well Of Suffering → enter DS, Tainted Shackles → Life Transfer and watch them absolutely melt.

If I were to replace something in my utility slots it would be Spectral Walk perhaps for Wurm although I’ve never much cared for it. It is a great utility without a doubt but personal opinion holds me against it. Regardless, it would be a good replacement for SW and I don’t much care for replacing the other two.

wurm, WoDarkness, Swalk, SoCorruption, SoPower, SoSpite, Swall, Sgrasp.

Would depend on team/enemy comp

I don’t ever use any wells in PvP. Too unreliable, don’t fit my playstyle and traits.

It’s not unheard of. Ryms been playing a necro for quite some time so he tailored a build for himself.

As far as subbing something in for wos…. that’s the only well I almost never change out for anything else Too much deeps.

As Power. I switch SA to Epidemic when I’m playing condition.

In my own opinion, I favour well of corruption over well of suffering, it provides more pressure with the condi corruption. And as a side note, the current bug with well of corruption makes it worth taking over WoS.

I run WoS, Spectral Walk, and swap around a third for now on my power Necro. Double well is amazing for team fights, but I run into way too many 1vX situation in solo queue so I needed something more reliable in case I miss the well.
