Where is fix for Death shroud?
Death shroud is far from needing to be fixed. The only reason so many people changed to reaper is because it’s role is damage dealing, up close. Shroud is still very good for range, but core necromancer also had a lot of other roles it can play. Comdi scepter, minion master tank, etc. Everyone is just so focused on damage dealing that they don’t pay attention to what else arena net had given us.
I was a bit disappointed in the base changes. I at LEAST expected damage on LB reduced for a faster cast to normalize it’s use with Dhuumfire and for blind protection. I’m surprised that didn’t come… That alone would have gotten me to at least try base necro again. Oh well, at least I found a build that suits my needs as a reaper.

What? Death Shroud is horrible compared to RS for more than just its damage dealing. It doesn’t provide Stab, and Stab is both helpful for damage dealing and defense through rezzing.
Its synergy with Transfusion is lesser, since the cooldown of Life Transfer is 1/3 longer than Soul Spiral (and can’t be further reduced through Reaper’s Onslaught). And, again, you don’t have stab up while casting LT, so you’re easier to interrupt.
DS doesn’t have a stun, like RS, that can be used to interrupt enemy rezzers/stompers in addition to its fear. And its fear is single target rather than aoe.
Life Blast, even with innate piercing, is just a poor skill. It has a massive aftercast that destroys its sustained dps.
While core necro can fill some other roles (BloodMagic/Curses/Spite signets, for instance), any role that uses condis is let down by the shroud immensely. Lifeblast doesn’t apply Dhuumfire well. Life Transfer does so little damage, I’m pretty sure it actually heals opponents. Tainted Shackles is an ok skill, but is nowhere near what Reaper and RS are putting out.
Listing the pros and cons of Dark Path v Death’s Charge is just a hilarious waste of time.
The only real problem I have with core Death Shroud is its just a clunky disjointed set of skills. Reaper Shroud skills have a really fun and interesting flow to them, with ways to vary your combinations depending on the situation, since many of the skills have multiple effects tied to them. DS on the other hand, you just kinda press the buttons when the CD is up or you need the utility… fun.
I found DS better than RS only in wvw for full berserkr gear,where can be life blast spammed at 1200 range,but i think almost every proffesion has better 1200 range skills now than necro´s life blast,bcs LB has too much long cast time + aftercast and good damage only within range 600.

Fix? No. Buff? Yes, because RS is better than DS.
Not only am I disappointed that DS didn’t get any substantial buffs (piercing LB… pls), but I’m almost more surprised that they didn’t rework Unyielding Blast.
2x vuln for Shroud 1, seriously, who is supposed to use this?
Now, if you pick Soul Reaping, you either have a staff or the choice between 3 equally useless traits.
In sPvP the Reaper shroud is 100 times better than Death shroud.
The direct damage is more or elss the same but in DS is easier to inflict why have 1200 range.
The Death Shroud totally lack of everything that make RS strong: STABILITY, Stun, Conditions and a Field (Ice Field with skill 5).
Just why there’s a insane amount of CC in the game, use the Reaper Shroud Stability and Chilled to the Bone is really the only thing that make you stand on your feets.
To make Death Shroud viable in spvp ANet need to give it a Stability and a Condition damage skill. 3 stack of Torment is a totally bad condition damage skill, making all the condition necros fight till the last before go in DS while when there they will not inflict dondition damage at all (making they’re presence totally useless).
DS is good only for a berserker build with wells. But with no stability and stuns, it’s a total lack of time to try that why you will find yourself death in a second.
If ANet make Life Transfer (skill 4) give 2 sec of stability every pulse and Taintled Shackles (skill 5) inflict 10 stacks of Torment, it wil make the DS viable.
This is why i didnt have any hopes up for the patch, especially for DS. When you’ve seen the way Anet works long enough, you will be able to tell when they actually don’t have anything
What i wanna know is, whats going to happen with power GS reaper.
