Because when I roll a necro, I’m a liability to my team. And I will continue to be a liability come the new trait changes.

I was so excited for the new traits because I was convinced ANet would use the opportunity to put necro on an even playing field. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

I like the idea behind the necro class, and I had a ton of fun playing it, but its just not practical. /rage

Same here, 5k hours on a necro wishing every patch that it would get better. Fortunately I have a fully equipped mesmer I was saving for when they finally did something with conditions.

OK, so I can’t jump worth kitten and I am sure my ports and veils will be bad at first, but at least my own heal won’t get me killed by a rapid fire ranger.

This is my ultimate problem. Necro is my best played and most fun profession but I hate being a liability on every proper dungeon run or PvP team I’m on. I don’t mind playing alone, but group content I just really can’t justify making things unecessarily slower/more difficult for others when I’m supposed to be helping.

We keep sticking around but after 3 years and seeing the power creep of other professions from this trait change I think we’ll be in an even worse spot than we are now, even though we got some minor mentionable buffs and some things went a step in the right direction. It’s just nowhere near enough and at way too slow of a pace to have much hope at this point for me.

Why did you ever swap to necromancer in the first place.?

Anyways I think the idea is to get us to swap to Revenant, which has the same deliberate play style but without a lost of the hassles that necromancer faces because some necromancer dominated some noobs in beta.

A long time ago somebody posted a guide of “how to build a minion master with good defense and team support.”

It was a guardian with 5-6 horrors following him (from lich runes).

then corruptions should just get removed instead of getting yourself killed

imagine a quick draw double long bow ranger -ohhh he heresy
rapid fire – u heal- then they swap weapons to rain of arrows→ rapid fire again all the while u have 10 stacks of vuln on u

Change of pace. It may sound weird, but it irks my pride to play a class considered by all to be “facerole”. When I stomp someone, I want to know that I’ve outplayed them and not relied on broken game mechanics.

When I rolled necro I realized I’m just big fat juicy theif/ranger bait (I’ve no hate for these classes, but option are limited).

i Rolled my necro fro almost double the time i rolled guard same as the guy above it was a change of pace from my warrior
i been denying the fact that i simply play guard better
when reaper comes in ill give it a whirl, i might pvp with ti but its unlikely ill run the same build i planned to run (spite bloodmagic soulreaping) for unexplainable reasons i really want to play with blood magic, but when i look it along with consume nerf its as if this update gave me sustain while taking sustain away from me so its like i got nothing in the end which leaved me utterly disappointed. if the other heals r anywhere near consume conditions’ level then i would be perfectly happy

plague giving your self bleed stacks is simply unacceptable to me, i really thought its gonna become a well that would work very well in blood magic with rituals trait which might give it a protection/siphon thing- imagine plague with that set up

i guess the fact I’m rage quitting pvp for necro is because i had high hopes for what the devs would have brought (honestly the previous traits aside from terror and lingering curse clash was what i hoped for)and what they brought didn’t make sense to me, instead they threw a lot of random crap to the class

the only thing i liked in upcoming trait cyratrhanged are shrouded removal and unholy Martyr

Give it another try before going back to guard or this thread will lack backbone. I’m content with thief but I’m not yet done with necro I’ll give a try to the devs “changes”.

some necro told me to give vampire signet a try but its not very viable(no really it just dont work)
well of blood seems to be able to fit into the build i wish to run but it does not grant me a cleanse and the cool down is longer than consumes base even after trained and with consume, u heal more if u can get 3 conditions compare to the full 5 second pulse on well of blood. if well of blood can pulse condition removal then it be perfect

or i can just run flesh golem for an elite and take runes of lyssa- but that is hard to work with because golem might die and go on full cool down when u need to use it

I know it’s bad but I don’t see it as worse-ish than now everything got better in some way condi necro will survive somehow, I still need them to clarify why Parasitic Contagion doesn’t work in DS. It’s not like condition necro profits from siphon procs or DS much.
