I am talking about condi reaper ofcourse.
With Superior Sigil of Mischief and Chilling Darkness

We would have 4 targets chill application at 600 range every 9 seconds.
It’s better than the alternative of Superior Sigil of Hydromancy and Superior Sigil of Ice

I am using Sigil of Mischief on my staff. Have been ever since it was introduced

The main downside to the Sigil of Mischief is that it’s a frontal cone only. Not so great in larger fights. Second downside is that it can be reflected.

Good point on reflect!
I considered cone side to be benefit tho. Like I can partially choose which target i want to hit.

The hypothetical question I’ll reply too you with (granted it was available in the Mists) is;
What’s stopping YOU from using it?

If it was available in the Mists I wouldn’t personally use it instead of Hydromancy, because as pointed out above:
-It’s a cone whereas Hydromancy is an AOE,which can hit 5 targets (maybe more? It doesn’t specify)
-It can be reflected (also as noted above),doing more harm than good
-Hydromancy does more damage than Mischief

But then again, paying attention on the enemies’ actions would negate any such reflect/miss. So I don’t know. I’d still take Hydromancy I believe.

Did you even read the wiki-post you linked? Because Snowball doesnt even inflict chill, only blind for 2 seconds.
The snowballs can critically hit and will only select enemies in a cone AoE in front of the player.

The skill performed by the sigil is called Snowball and has the following facts:
Damage Damage: 37 (0.15)?
Next outgoing attack misses; stacks duration. Blind (2s): Next outgoing attack misses.
Range: 600

E: So why would anyone use this instead of hydromancy ever?

Yeah, with Chilling Darkness ICD, you’d only chill one target, not 4, since the snowballs are 4 separate attacks instead of 1 aoe. Could be wrong on that though, I’ll test it to be sure later.

This trait activates on all targets that are blinded by a single area-of-effect blinding strike before it goes on cooldown

Tested on my necro, multiple snowballs do get the chill effects.

However, If the hit is too long from each other (e.g, 1 target is right next to you and another is far away, taking time for projectile to travel) then it won’t trigger chill.

So that effect is probably an open time frame.

Sigil of Hydromancy only have 240 ranged on trigger. It’s pretty small.
