This is a really minor gripe, but I’ve never understood this.

A bunch of classes have traits that sensibly affect their land weapons and underwater alternatives. Why can’t traits that affect scepter, such as Lingering Curse, affect trident too?

The same could apply between axe and dagger traits and spear.

I think this would go a long way to making necromancers stronger and a little more interesting underwater without buffing the class too much.

To be fair, Necromancer actually play rather well underwater. Trident auto-attack is good for Condition builds to stack bleeds, you have a poision + combo field, decent damage AoE and the DS skills are decent too with the Wide area fear and blind.
Epidemic is available underwater (as with a lot of other good Utilities).
The spear has plenty of pulls and attacks.

It’d be nice to have the 33% condition duration, but I think Necros are pretty tough underwater, compared to say… a Thief, which is crap underwater (Basilisk venom in PvE is crap, especially without the share poison trait)

Isn’t Lingering Curse the only trait that affects the scepter?

For dagger and axe there is the mastery trait for reduced cooldowns. Would you get a double -cd for the spear if you had both?

Anyway, it would be a nice boost. But is it necessary? The underwater combat is pretty strong for every necro build, isn’t it?

tbh id rather stick with under-water weapons that dont NEED any extra traits.

Necromancers honestly don’t need underwater buffs, we’re up there with rangers for being insanely strong underwater.
