Why do Necromancers Pets look so terrible?
personal taste?
Why would they have hair? Why would a shadow fiend not look like a shadow? Why would they be buff?
Frankly their design makes perfect sense as is. Shadow Fiend is a creature summoned from a different dimension, and the rest are golems of flesh cobbled together from whatever happens to be around, and loosely fashioned into the shape of other life forms (probably because its simpler that way, since you know the anatomy will work out). My only issue with them is they could look a bit grosser, and their current… shiny textures are a bit strange, they should be more earthy looking.
Other than that, gimme skins. For the love of god I will pay so much money if you release skins for minions.
The point here is that guild wars 2 art work for the pets looks nothing like the real creatures themselves.

Can you give us a link?
All of the art I’ve ever seen was very similar to them in game. It looked better of course, but it wasn’t that big of a change.
I wish they gave necros the ability to use the minions from GW1. In my opinion they looked so much better. The ones we have now looks a bit odd.

GW1 minions looks like the evolution of GW2 minions. Welcome to Pokéminion!
Seriously, I agree with Bhawb: minion’s skins!!!

I’d give anything to have an Aataxe than that bag of flesh for an elite. I like the shadow fiend, I think he’s cute but the others are so ugly.

This pretty much. Works well for Dota2 and Anet could make quite some money with that. Especially with one or two different Golem and bone minion skins.
Othen than those two, i really like the minion designs.

Or something like the minor glyphs in WoW. I think that would be a better comparision than dota2 since both are mmos.

The genre doesnt have to do anything with cosmetic items, in my opinion. And i’d call it skins cause that term already exists for this kind of stuff in gw2.
tho. in the end it doesnt matter how it’s called, i guess.
Im not sure about how glyphs in WoW exactly work, but didnt they also provide some very minor boni? And arent they limited?

there are 2 types major and minor. The minor ones are kosmetic/not game changing glyphes. The major ones change skills etc.

Amen to that brother!! I’d give a kidney for the GW1 skins especially!

I think the important question is why it’s the shadow of a dust-bunny.
+1 for skins. And Anet can release them as minis to make money from non-necro players.

Skins, I would like to purchase skins!
Seriously, this is a topic over a year old.
You don’t put a collar on one and name it sparky.
They are not pets, they are minions.

I recommend an Orrian Wraith minipet. It doesn’t do much (unless you have ranger runes), but it will make you feel better.
I kinda like that we don’t have the clichéd zombies and skeletons. I like the designs of most of them, except for shadow fiend which is basically as bloated blob with sad little eyes. They should make it look like the stabby dude from the Spectre Finisher, that would be cool. I also prefer the design of the Bone Fiend like it was in GW1, which was basically a ribcage on chicken legs. It looked creepy but in a funny way. The current scorpio-like bone fiend, is, well, kinda unimaginative.
