You can use any weapons you feel like. Its just that only reapers have access to GS.

I was worried because the switch button was hidden during the streaming and english is not my main language so I though I may have missed it even if they said something about it.

The problem is, none of the other weapons synergize with the reaper at all

The only way to play the engineer is to exploit it.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.

Yes, I’ll be using a staff for the fear/chill. Dagger (life force) and focus (chill) could also be a viable alternative IMO.

Staff does. You get 1200 range attacks which will be non-existent compared to core Necro. Another AoE chill + weakness for even more damage reduction and possible vulnerability stacks (bitter chill from spite). AoE fear (which can chill) and another condi transfer.

Because there can be so much vulnerability application with Reapers, we might be better off taking Soul Marks instead of Unyeilding Blast (unless the Reaper version/effect is really good) for the extra LF gain. Although LF gain looks like it won’t be an issue, so Speed of Shadows looks optimal.

main dagger or warhorn + chilling force + blighters boon + some chill = mass might and life force

scepter + duration trait + dhuumfire + reaper is super long chills and long burn on auto attack.

focus: vuln and chill enough said.

staff: fear and chill.

Well depending on how you gear and spec you can go Hybrid or Condi Reaper. Take Soul Reaping Line for Dhuumfire AA in RS. Go Curses for Terror. In which case you can you can use Scepter + F/D/W. Staff is also a great addition for more chill poison, and another range option. Power wise Dagger/Dagger isn’t bad either since you can immobilize them and drop your execution skills and PBaoe.

TBH any weapon EXCEPT for the scepter will be appropriate. As mentioned above;

Dagger: For dmg and lf generation+small heal and immob.
Focus: For having even MORE boon removal+chill. And also more vulnerability.
Staff: For Chill+Range+Fear+Condi removal (is always great with C rem.).
Axe: Med. range+Nice dmg on #2+Retaliation gained from AOE (Retaliation since you’ll get hit anyways=more dmg)
Dagger offhand: For Condi removal and Aoe blind+Aoe Weakness (weakness is awesome for a melee brawler regardless if specced condi or not!)
Warhorn offhand: Daze+LF gain/some dmg.

Ha, the edit pulled in when I quoted, but not when I read. Dat timing.

But yeah. I see synergy all over almost all of the weaps. The immob in Dagger as well can help set up big hits that would otherwise be dodged as well. And if they dodge the immob? One less dodge to avoid the other abilities anyway.

I’m most excited about power builds, but the condi potential is also real.
