So Necromancer is now the only class I dont have and I wanna make one but I cant decide on a race any of them are fine but im excluding both Humans and Norn since I already have 2 of them.

None of the racials really “compliment” or are better than what a Necro has, so it’s really an aesthetic or character choice.
Charr, After so much death on the battlefield did they seek a way to control it?
Asura, The only thing technology cannot stop is death, maybe their curiosity took them to the occult side?
Sylvari, Many plants have the power to take life and give it, maybe the Sylvari is the Homeopathic Necromancer?

Made a Char Necro. CoF armor gives them flaming tails :P That… and his voice… “Oops, there goes another one…”

Honestly, I’ve tried other races, but I honestly found myself REALLY liking my char. Oh, and make him the smallest size if you want your footfalls to be faster. Its the only way I can roll a Norn or Char these days. Its a personal preference, but I feel SO much faster, even if I’m not :P

Necros have much darker character dialogue in combat, if that helps you narrow it down. Play one of each race to level 5 to hear what they say when their pet dies or one of the other “reactionary” class specific lines.

Besides that, its a matter of aesthetics… go for the cold and calculating asuran, the wilted salad or the savage beast. As for mine… I went BEAST.

Sylvari. it gives you an invulnerability skill.

Sylvari gives you a really nice invuln for certain situations and the grasping roots are great for trolling groups with signet of spite and epidemic.

Norn elite is great for solo pvp. You can stealth and sprint away for a clean escape once every 4 minutes.

Human elite ‘Hounds of Balthazar’ are pretty awesome for burst damage, and deal lots of burning damage if you are condition spec.

Sylvari has an elite that grants invulnerability, can be useful for select pve mechanics.

I haven’t played the other races really.

Charr do have the only dodge skill that necros can get, which is a pretty hefty bonus. Also, the Charrzooka elite is actually pretty good, if situational.

If you care about skins and aesthetics: human, sylvar or norn.
If you are a PvP guy: asura.
If you want to WvW: asura (size) or norn (wolf elite).
Nothing from above and / or PvE: all five race is good.

ps: Charr hidden pistol is truly nice in PvE sometimes.

Asura, as a necro, your going to get CC’ed & kicked around a lot. So it makes visual sense.

Asura has access to Radiation Field, and though it’s on a long CD, it’s still another added source of Weakness—the only thing we truly bring to PvE parties.

Charr can be somewhat tricky to robe up with a armor for necro especialy females. I can think of only 2 possible matching set, Winged feathered combo and Orrian. Because lets face it COF is more for elementalist. As for where the charr stands in the dialogue it aint much more agressive or wicked then the asura is the main diffrence is:

The asura talk like if it was a superior behing or something, is highly arrogant and use a lot of scientifical therm such as ‘’Endurance level is to low’’ talking like if he was a computer.
The charr use a lot of soldier themed therms ‘’i cant remember my orders’’(confused)

When i saw the thread title, i immediately thought of a bunch of necro’s dressed up as witches running through lions arch with Anet hounding behind them with torches and pitchforks.

“all charr, no matter what their profession, consider themselves soldiers”

If you like WvW and like to roam,Norn is the only way to go.
