I started this game a year ago with a necro human, got her to lvl 80 and stopped playing because in Orr she was getting murdered. When I came back I made a warrior and have put about 400 hrs into her. Since coming back I’ve read a lot about builds, which I had no clue about first time around with my necro. Long story short, I’d like to play my necro exclusively in WvW, since it seems they are wanted there and can really contribute to the team environment. However, since I haven’t played her in a long time, I’m asking for serious help on a putting together a great build for her.
I like the idea of a “well” build but I’m open to anything that will be good. I’m a good mover/dodger, but I have bad nerves, so can have a hard time placing the cursor where I want it, but that may not be too much of a problem in zerg – maybe big problem in roaming or 1v1? Having played a warrior for a while now I’m used to melee and ranged combat (use rifle&GS or LB&axe/mace).
So, please help! If I get a few different variations I will try them out and see what works best for my play style. Thanks in advance
Ok i definitely do not feel any help is forthcoming. I tried reading the build info in here but it’s either old or hotly debated. I will look elsewhere for help though. Warrior forums are better than this one coz at least even if i get responses even if they aren’t helpful. Guess you all are too good for me.
Lol no. Hotly debated means you won’t touch it? Just cause its “old” doesn’t mean it’s no longer viable, it may just need a few changes? Have you even played a Necromancer? If so then you probably have a general idea of what you like/dislike about it? Go from there…then go to wvw to test…if that didn’t work to your liking….rework traits/gear/utilities till you find something you enjoy!
You mentioned well builds, there’s plenty of threads within the top five pages on this forum(requires a little reading) about “WvW Wellmancer”, intothemists.com has a guide section with user submitted guides as well as a decent calc for constructing your own guide/toying with others, then there’s always a quick google/YouTube search.
Excuse the users of the board for not taking the time to do your work or getting as excited about the 500th “wvw build plz” thread. You would rather have unhelpful feedback than 1)doing the research yourself? Taking pride in a build you’ve built/tested yourself. 2) being patient enough for someone to respond? Sounds silly.
Very strong build for zerg vs zerg, use your well of darkness to snare and blind the ennemy then well of corruption for debuffing and well of suffering for aoe dmg. Use your staff for AoE control and your elite to rush into the ennemy zerg with more than 50k hp and spamming blind and chile you will be a pain in the kitten for your opponent team.
Thanks for the reply Silverthorn! Lots of HP with that build. Is 200 condi dmg good for WvW? I notice 0% condi duration. 0% crit dmg, so this is for support, correct?
Forgive my noob questions. I haven’t played my necro for months, and I’m not sure what to seek out in terms of build for zerg/roam wvw. I’m still reading the forums so I hope everything become clearer.
yep it is a support build for zerging (20vs20) with this build your job is to debuff , blind and snare the opponent team and leave the damages to the war and guardian with their hammer (.
The purpose is not really to do damages with conditions or apply long duration condition because versus a strong zerg conditions will be dispell with combo, guardian shout etc…
In fact you just have tools which reapply chile and blind every seconds so you don’t really need condition duration.
If you are looking for a roaming build (lone wolf to 5vs5) a standart condition mancer will be fine.
Hi Ascii. Sorry, I’m not sure if that is a serious build or if you’re making fun of me. Hard to tell in a forum. NP if you’re having fun at my expense, but let me know if that’s actually a useful build. I see you’re well respected in on the forum in terms of advice.
I’m not making fun of you, just the stupid amounts of health we can potentially get whilst in Plague (i didn’t even factor in the 2,500 WvW buff, 1500 from orbs and global 10-15% buff).
Anyway its more or less a serious build, standard Wellomancer layout for large scale fights just en emphasis on health over damage or -% conditions.
