I’ll put a video up soon to show you guys how it works when I find fraps on my computer and get into some action
Using the utilities Spectral Grasp, Spectral Walk and Any of the two damaging wells, you can have a lot of fun instead of standing at the back sending your necrotic grasp and wells.
During large battles between your team and another side, you can score some easy kills while being safe at the same time. Go in from the side and use Spectral walk about 900 distance from the crowd. When you hit the middle, drop the well and use Spectral recall. You are guaranteed to hit a ton of people because they can’t move anywhere else. This is a good way to score some easy kills and laugh at people getting caught in the well.
During small encounters with teams, send out spectral grasp on a foe and then immobilise and focus on him/her. When the other enemy teammates rush to help, drop the well and then use DS to hold out while strafing and dodging. When the well finishes, use spectral walk and run in one direction and they are guaranteed to follow you. When you have 1 more second for spectral recall time limit, use it and run in the opposite direction and drop marks if you can.
These are just some ways I like to have fun and get away from casting necrotic grasp in the crowd for 10 minutes. Post some feedback and share some of yours
Yus, this is what makes Spectral walk one of the best PvP skills for necro, hands down. I love using my fear abilities with it. It takes practice but with the right timing you can keep people running back n forth while yur teammates pick em off.
My Fav tactic so far is…
1) Fear mark
2) DS, stack might n vulnerability(from traits) than pop fear #3 before DS drops.
3) initiate Spectral walk to regain DS and continue the fun.
4) 6-7 seconds later (cause the timer on reset is 8 secs) pop SW again to hit PoO.
(point of origin… thats 6-7 seconds of cool down off your skills and that SW adds to LF so you can go back in for more fear).
5)either run in opposite direction and kitten them off or prep for charge.
6)Fear is ready, rinse n repeat.
by utilizing SW’s 8 sec repop to origin ability you effectively reduce CD by 14-16 seconds because your target will be running around trying to look/engage you. If you can do this at the limit of your range atks you can save those precious seconds.
I want to address something else here real fast, The SW ability leads into another thing I see alot of necros complain about…DS.
From personal experience, it has to be one of the best skills the necro has.
1) You have several skills to bring up LF not to mention a whole trait line devoted to it. As well as abilities in other trait lines to reenforce its str.
2) DS isnt ment to spend the whole LF bar at once. The point of it is simple, use is to:
a) avoid dmg output from huge single sources like the slam from the champ at the temple of melandru.
b) Popping #3 for the added fear effect.
c) quick heals from traited #4 for life transfer.
d) pop #2 to close the distance with the enemy before popping wells and marks again.
as soon as those are done, you should drop DS and get that CD to reduce so you can have it ready again. But before you ever initiate DS, unless its life saving, pop your staff #5 to induce fear so it can go on cool down. The time it takes #5 staff to go off, than DS fear to go off, you already have a good few secs into CD for your other skills. Dont think of fear as 1.25 secs of running thats it. they have to recover the distance spent, so thats really 2.5 secs of CD you just saved. 2.5+2.5=5.0 thats 5 secs of free CD gone.
Lets say you pop SW as in my reference, and run the 6-7 secs before repopping it, thats an added 12-14 secs of CD gone. making anything on a 17-19 CD ready to use again. With the DS only being used in short bursts, its ready for use and more fear again.
Point is, Spectral Walk is amazing. Its ability to repop either brings the enemy into the open, drops CD on skills 6-7 sec if they dont chase, or the enemy stays in place waiting for you to repop making them vulnerable to teammate atks.
I don’t think i have actually heard anyone complain about soul walk in a serious manner. Also spectral grasp wont hit anything unless its basically not moving and that skill i will admit is horrible for pulling things to me I want to fight.

Spectral grasp won’t work if the target is running laps around you nor will it work if they are dodging. It only works on flat land as well. Working to these limitations, it’s pretty good, but still needs fixing.
So yeah hits nothing that moves.
