Hey everyone, It has been a long time since I last played GW2 and have been leveling up a new Necromancer as I deleted all my previous characters. (Wanted to start up again from scratch, though was a pain after I found out WvW exp is account bound now…)

Enough of that though here is the spec I am thinking about:

My theories behind this are to enable my Necro to be able to switch quite quickly between zerg running and Roaming whilst in WvW. This is done with the following skill and trait switch:

Zerging -> Roaming
Focused Rituals -> Banshee’s Wail
Well of Corruption -> Spectral Grasp

This enables basically perma-swiftness to be applied when roaming and nice bits of AoE when running with a zerg.

The weapon thoughts are due to Dagger and Warhorn being suitably strong in melee and if a little (abeit not alot) range is needed switch to Axe and Focus.

This is what i mostly use in bigger zerg fights:

Dagger is sometimes switched to axe depending on lazyness and spectral attunement switched to Banshee’s Wail if I dont feel like I need the added defense of longer Spectral armor/Last grasp while in DS.
In this setup I also quite often have condi duration food and crystal (100 power +10% duration) for 80% total duration, quite decent for all your soft CC and fear’s if you feel like it.

Going really tanky for harder fights while still having decent dmg:

This setup I find quite strong in huge zerg fight’s or when outnumbered etc.

For small scale roaming or solo i usually go hybrid or full condi, this is my experimental hybrid (dont laugh)

On a side note i almost never use axe, never found it suited me, like dagger more and staff never gets replaced. Though offhand weap gets swapped alot, focus can be awesome on a full on power setup just hard to land since the cast time god awefull long. Dagger OH is my second most used for small scale roaming.

And too comment on your build (i forgot that) for zerging you really should be running both suffering and corruption for bombing, but again its up to you. And I think Reaper’s Precision in a zerg fight can be ditched completely for Focused Ritual’s and then your free to pick between Spectral or Banshee (i normally go spectral)

In regards to Death Perception, I personally never go for it but thats because of my setup i guess. With Furious Demise and a decent base crit chance I find it quite useless. Close to Death is in my eye’s a much better grandmaster for zerging.

Death Perception can be swapped to Foot in the Grave if you really need the stability. With proper positioning you should only need Foot in the Grave if you’re not in a party with guardians or have to push through a choke.

The added chill bomb build swaps food for condi duration, picks up Chilling Darkness in Curses, and picks up Well of Darkness for the third utility skill. This variant is only needed if you’re running ranged heavy and don’t have enough soft CC’s from your melee train, otherwise run 62006.

Plague should be used as a defensive ability only. The use of plague or lich is up to you but popping lich is begging to get focused. Plague can also be used to help get through hot chokes.

The third utility skill in a 62006 build is optional.
