WvW Solo/Small group Roaming Build Help
Necromancer while solo roaming isn’t always a pleasant experience no matter what build you run. Every necro build will rely on team support to some degree, though once you get good at positioning you don’t require it so much.
If you are only looking for a build that is strong while solo/small group roaming, this would probably be close to the best Build 1
You can always run an alternate variant such as this one, Build 1 Shouts
Those are probably the strongest condi builds out there currently for necro. Additionally you can go with a more dps variant of those such as; Build 1 DPS/Shouts
I personally dislike those builds and run my own variant of them (though I acknowledge that the above builds are definitely stronger). Mainly I use Vipers/Carrion gear so I have more of a hybrid damage source.
Here are my three main builds I use;
Builds:
GS Standard: https://goo.gl/mfHAUw
Axe Standard: https://goo.gl/NvZbzz
Signet: https://goo.gl/0TpLlu
I will also toss in a shameless plug to my Youtube since it largely exclusively features necro solo/small group roaming. Youtube

Thank you so much for your guidance!
I actually like the idea of a hybrid damage source instead of strictly condi. I will def ponder these builds and play around to see what best suits me.
Thanks for the YouTube link. It’s always great to see a good player in action! I will admit I did laugh a little on the first video where an entire zerg came and mowed you over LOL. I’ve had that happen countless times. I’ll log on to YouTube and follow.
I so appreciate your guidance! Thank you for sharing!
Whats helly said.
I use a power build of my own that i found it helps in outnumbered fights specially with durability runes wich i use in my first video.
In this one i use strenght runes for more ofensive. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/external?l=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FfEQekbVU2u4
Hellys build is more rewarding catching large groups distracted. He can easily take 5 downs ina few seconds.

Thanks for sharing! Good fights in the video! One question….how does the build hold up against condi? I see the trait where minions take 1 condition but was curious if that was the only condi clear?
I’ll watch your other video too. Both of you are very skilled on necro and I need to practice and learn some tricks lol.
Thank you so much for the advice!!!
I’d recommend either of the two builds in the following videos, among others:

In general solo roaming on Necromancer is hit or miss; we don’t have active mitigation or high mobility, so if you commit to a fight you’re probably not leaving without winning or dying. You just need to go in knowing that and accepting it.
With that said, the class isn’t helpless. Necromancer, especially when built for Condi, has good utility, reasonable sustain, and generally good matchups. The builds I linked above are both good in different ways: The hybrid spec benefits from good sustain through “Your Soul is Mine!” as well as differentiated damage. The Corruptions spec offers great down control, utility, and sustain through Parasitic Contagion. I would say for mid-scale roaming the Corruptions spec is king, but for solo roaming and small group play the Mercenary’s build is sweet.

As far as condi goes if i have time to see the food of my enemy and its condi i switch eother the heall for condi heall one and “you are all weaklings” for signet transfer. But yes condi good players will kick ur kitten . Thats why i prefer durability runes. That one second or resistance saves u from a BIG TICK of condi damage.
Glad you liked it

would you say your hyrbid build is still viable? I was thinking about creating a similar style myself! (btw great vids you got there)

I would say that the build actually got better; in the last balance pass ANet both buffed Power Reaper as well as buffed Deathly Chill in PvE (and therefore WvW), meaning that both axes that the spec functions on got stronger. The build was already quite survivable, and now it simply does even more damage than it used to.

Awesome thats great to hear! I will probably continue to go ahead with my idea!
Also, I am getting back into gw2 and I need a PvE build to get ascended gear/explore/make money etc.
Any you would recommend?

I would recommend using the Corruptions build for the sake of efficiency, because not only does it have the sustain to hard carry you and pugs through most content, but it also allows you to “double-dip” and be able to use the same build in multiple places; it’s both your WvW and PvE build, so you don’t need to spend as much money on multiple sets of gear. In general though either build (plus many others) are quite effective for PvEing as a Necromancer; the class is generally quite forgiving in the open world.

What would you say is better. The Hybrid of Power build? For WvW Roaming and some PvE elements.
Stick with procmancer or the power boon corrupt build. Just personal preferences.
